Hey, are you gonna try transfer or are you happy with your course?

Is Swinburne good? (I wouldn't have a clue, I heard RMIT is alright - I only thought Swinburne was good for IT related stuff)

nah im really happy with it... i didnt know anything about swinburne but on the careers night a lady from engineers australia was there and she said she went to swinburne. She said becuase its a university of technology all the things you do are alot more relevant (she pretty much frowned down on melbourne said their course was outdated and too much theory based)... nothing but good reveiws from her and i guess she's the person who would be most 'in the know'.

oh and swinburne is the only uni to offer a paid year of industry based learning (where they basically get you a job) which is pretty decent.

also very happy i got the double degree, eng/buisness... would have done RMIT but the mechanical course requires you to do half of it in Bundoora (no way!)

they GET you a job?? !!!! :D :D :D

that'll be awesome, but a bit too good to be true??

oh, and last year @ careers expo University of Ballarat tried to poach IT hopefuls, supposedly they also offer industry based learning, where you go to work on campus, IBM's there i think... but that's all the way in ballarat.. :P

They pretty much do, its just up to the employer if they want to keep you around after that year (but most likely they will)

Hah, bumping an old thread, but I thought I'd mention that I'm at Swin as well. I'm gonna be a PSD student in the ICT faculty. It should be good. :D

Does anybody do Business here? In regards to the statement above that it's only good for courses related to IT, is there any truth to that?
