Title: 📚 Study Checklist - A place for productivity 📚
Post by: J_Rho on September 04, 2020, 02:57:44 pm
Welcome to the Study Checklist Thread!

Here, we (literally anyone) will post our study (or anything else) checklists and aim to complete them everyday. To boost motivation those who complete their study checklists will get points per task they complete. Sounds simple enough, right?

Is there a start and finish time?
Is there a start and finish time?
There isn’t a definite starting and finishing time in terms of revision, but you must have all your work completed by midnight the same day. To give yourself max study time you should post your checklist/to do list in the morning. Anything after this will not be credited as points but you may still see this as a self-achievement.

How Does the Point System Work?
How does the point system work
You will be awarded one point for each task you complete. Two points if the task was quite long and deserves extra points.

Is there prizes?
Is there prizes?
ummm............bragging rights?

How Much do i have to do?
how much do i have to do?
You can choose the days when you want to revise. Remember, quality not quantity!
No pressure!

What if i dont get it done?
what if i dont get everything done?
If you do not complete a task, don't worry! No points will be deducted. Perhaps, move to the task to the next day and complete it then? Try not to edit tasks out of your original post because you haven't completed them. This is supposed to be a honest way of tracking your progress!

I Still don't understand how does this work?
I Still don't understand how does this work?
This is an example of a check list
- Annotate chapter 1 of my prescribed text
- Finish Exercise 9J
- complete Biology worksheet

if you only get the first 2 done you get 2 points, if you get all done you get 3 points. The aim is to set an amount of tasks you think you can get done in the day or study sessions :)

Study Sessions!
Join in whenever you can, but remember, when we are having sessions, try not to go on AN!

16:00pm - Session starts
16:45pm - Session ends

16:45 - 17:00pm - Break

17:00pm - Session starts
17:45pm - Session ends

17:45 - 18:00pm - Break

18:00pm - Session starts
18:45pm - Session ends

18:45pm - 20:00 - Break

20:00pm - Session starts

I finished these 4 tasks today! Tomorrows to do list is....

Hopefully this makes sense now :)

Yes, it makes much more sense now :) And if we forget to check in one day, for instance?
Also, do you take care of figuring the no. of points, etc.?

Sounds great! I'm definitely in.

I got one question though, do we edit our posts to tick off the check lists as we finish? Or do we just create a new post?

Its probably easiest to keep track of if you make a new post, but if you plan on just editing LMK so i know thats how you want to do it and i'll check your 'old' posts when I tally scores each day

Three cheers!! As a writer myself (and planning my own novel series which is kinda :o) I'd advise you - write what you like! It doesn't need to ever go to anyone else, you know. Have fun with it (and have you heard of NaNoWriMo? It really kickstarted my writing of novels, and once I got a taste of writing longer work, I was hooked!) And you know what? Practice makes perfect. :) And you know what? Just seeing someone else was gonna do writing-y stuff has made me put doing some on my list, too :)

Monday 7 September To-Do List: Green = stuff I didn't get done the day before

Did:
- Do some integration for Methods Edrolo
- Go to English and focus during revision lecture
- Finish off integration for Methods Edrolo
I did 3/13 tasks today. Methods took ages, as in several hours. Most of the day, to be precise. So I think each of the Methods things should count for more? because I did ~4/5 chapters of integration according to Edrolo. I worked hard, anyway. But watching videos cannot be further condensed - I already had it on 1.5-2x speed!

Did:
- Find out and put on calendar when each SAC is and what to do before it
- Figure out a working title for the first book and post on NaNoWriMo ('A Chance Spark', not sure I like it, but oh well, figure out better later - vastly better than '[untitled first book in series]' ;))

I did 7/11 tasks for today, but I think I'll add a 12th task, which I completed: focusing during a revision lecture we apparently had for History which took 45 minutes longer than History was supposed to. So that would be 8/12, actually. Pretty much, my day was an Ode to the Bound Book. SAC's tomorrow! At least it's done...!

I also have a question......do you guys not have online classes for each and every session? I’m wondering how some of you get 15 things done between 3pm and let’s say 9pm after school!!

I have online class 6 sessions a day and have no freedom to do exam study as the teachers are dribbling on about whatever. But it just occurred to me not everyone is in that same boat. I’ve heard some schools only have 3 tutorials a week!!

I only have four subjects, we have slots for six, so I have at least one study class nearly every day. Also I may or may not be reaching my own goals while the teacher is teaching... :P and my class has had a lot of research classes recently, in which I've been... doing other stuff than researching for that class. So I dunno about others, but that's me.

You’ve done 2 of these since yesterday I feel like I’m seriously behind   :P :P
Mostly because I planned to do one on Monday to prep for trial exam (since I've never done a 3hour English exam before) but then my study group decided that yesterday was the right time to do one to prep for the trial exam. So I did both. And then I'll do the trial on Thursday and probably not do any more for at least a week. :P Also, procrastination at heart - I'm avoiding studying for Revolutions, which I really need to get on with :P

Did yesterday - not much, one English exam, a few pages of a Methods exam 1, a bit of the bound book.

Today
-Do bound book this morning, print out, finalise etc.
-Do Methods exam 2 timed
-Finish typing up English exam (half way through yesterday)
-Fix bike SECOND puncture >:(
(it almost feels like I'm lacking the obligatory 'do an English exam' one :P)

Why even bother I’m already a failure but just in case I stop being stupid:
Actually no I’ll just cancel all the exams.
Mark everything and study everything I did bad- all of it.

Don't give up!! Everyone has bad days sometimes. Tomorrow (or rather today I guess) is a new day: try your best and don't feel constricted or defined by the previous day. Do your best and so even if you don't do what you wanted, you'll know you did what you could.
Also, you 'only did one thing'. If you're feeling down, don't say it that way - you did one thing. One thing more than the year 12s who are currently taking holidays. You can do this! :)
Even just sticking at trying to keep going is good. You're not giving up so far, and there isn't so much to go either. Keep on going! :D

I kinda forgot about this... ::)
Today I'll aim to do a Methods exam 2 (VCAA 2018). And relax. :) Oh, and do at least one 5-mark question on 2018 sample HTAV Revs exam.
Tomorrow, I need to complete a document for Revs France causes. And do the GAT (favourite exam ever, I'm even being serious :))).
Not exactly a checklist, just a note to self to do it...
