Gotta start running soon. LOL. I can barely run 20 minutes without being exhausted!

Best time of the year to start! You'll be surprised how quickly you can improve, just make sure it's at least 20 minutes.
Having a running partner also makes a huge difference.

Anyone run The Tan? Went for a run there on New Year's Day when I was down and had the Summadayze beats to keep me going :)

Does anyone have a dog they go running with? I'm trying to get mine in shape haha.

Except I hate the summer heat though (anything above 20 I tend to struggle): I'll have to start leaving at like 8/9 am now.. , it's way better to go jogging in the rain during winter!

I've tried to convince Mum to let us get a dog so I can run with it but to no avail :( I sometimes take my friends dogs for runs though, it's Win-Win. I get a buddy - they get out of walking their dog!

And YES to running in the rain! At the Great Melbourne Run about 10km in it began to rain and it was sooo good :)

Not exactly a mile, but I've done 1500m in 4'42".

Still a bit off that magic 4 minute mile ;)

Ive got a pair of mizunos, awesome shoes. Unfortunately at the moment my knees are needing heaps of physio exercises so I'm restricted to about 10km or less. Hopefully up to running low 19's for 5km but nothing too special lol. Has anyone the 5km at run Melbourne, and if so is it fairly flat?

If you go to MapMyRun, often people have uploaded popular runs, and this site has gradient maps on it.

I'm not exactly sure of the run you're talking about, but am assuming you mean the 5km St George Run in October run with the Marathon?

I'll definitely get in that site then :)

Not really sure, I think this year it's July 21. But it could be the same thing just earlier

I do quite a bit of swimming (4-5 times a week)

But I want to get back into running (I used to be consistent from years 6-10). I have Nike shoes and Reebok ones I bought from India. I do about 5 mins of running and 5 mins of walking atm because I am pathetic. But I have a treadmill so I do the running at a pretty high speed so its more like crazy sprinting for that time. I am short too, so its hard for me. But I was thinking...if you guys know any (not programs) but fun runs or some shit to get my act together that is soon. If I pay for it, I'm more likely to be more serious. So, anyone know of anything?

I just entered Run for the Kids, it's on March 26. There is a 5km and a 15km, with over half of the entry fee going to the RCH. (31 of 52 for the 15km, not quite sure about the 5km)

So maybe that might be a good one for you?

The 5km Event is $47 of which $29 is donated to the Hospital.

Haha, not so sure about a stall but you can enter as a team. I've already entered the 15km unfortunately with no affiliation, however if a few people on this thread express interest maybe the first person to register for the 5km can set up an AN Team and let the others know the name etc. for when they register?

Just an idea if a few are going to do it.
