Title: How much of an effect does a poor cohort have on scaling?

Also, if your a high rank, say rank 1 for example, will a poor cohort still bring you down?

If you're rank 1 and you get the best exam score out of your cohort,  your exam score will become your SAC score - without being influenced by the rest of your cohort

What if you're ranked 2nd? does that also apply or are we just f'ed?

You solely decide your exam score (no matter what rank you are) but if you're rank 2 your SAC scores are influenced by your classmates.

You still have more influence over your study score than your peers though; and if a few people from your cohort do well on the exam you're likely to get a good score for your SACs, even if the rest of the cohort preforms poorly.
