GA1 Grade question

Hi everyone,
On my first SAC I scored 92% but my teacher said wait until moderation has occurred . Can anyone tell me what moderation is and what it could possibly do. Could it potentially increase my mark?

Also, what percentage average would I need for GA1 to not stuff my chances of getting a 40+ss raw. Would 92% cut it or do I need to go higher?

Anything could happen it could go up or go down or stay the same.

If it is internal moderation it wont have much impact on the meaning of your score since your cohort rank wont change.

External moderation will be done by vcaa by using your rank + your schools exam wcores to adjust your mark to be reflective of rank/cohort strength.

Hypothetically speaking , if a student was rank 1 , internal moderation could increase your GA1 grade . Is that true, or does rank 2 affect you?

Internal moderation is all up to your school/teacher.
if you are rank 1 you might go from 92-->100 as a raw score but it won't change the standerdised grade that VCAA gives you. (as long as you maintain the rank)

Often I feel like people overthink this kind of thing. It is good to know where you are at in the class, but if you just concentrate on doing your best, the marks will follow after. It's like the old story about the cat chasing it's tail, when if it just walks straight the tail will follow it. It's all very well to be so concerned about the marks, but if you spent the time on study that you spend on worrying about the mark, you will maximise the mark, and won't have to worry... Sorry if I digress a little :P
