it comes up in every past vcaa exam, however my textbook (Oxford) does not cover it. Is it another word for DBS? Direct brain stimulation (bit confused).

Electrical stimulation of the brain- this involves use of an electrode to administer a precisely measured and targeted current to a specific area of the brain. If electrical stimulation of a specific area of the brain causes a particular behavior it is assumed that this area is responsible for that behavior
Value- Role in identifying functions of the brain
Limitation-Can only be used for people undergoing brain surgery, also extremely invasion procedure
