I think it's fine. There isn't really much overlap except for research methods, but you learn all of that in 3/4 again anyway.
It's relatively easy, but you do have to put a lot of work in to do well! :)

The only thing 1/2 and 3/4 have in common is the research methods but this is covered more extensively in 3/4. But I do find that having knowledge of 1/2 can be useful for subjects such as English when doing prompts surrounding encountering conflict. One example being that of Kitty Genovese and the bystander effect.
‎"We divert our attention from disease and death as much as we can; and the slaughter-houses and indecencies without end on which our life is founded are huddled out of sight and never mentioned, so that the world we recognize officially in literature and in society is a poetic fiction far handsomer and cleaner and better than the world that really is."

Nah mate you'll be fine that's what I did this year and so far have been OK. As to how easy it is like most other subjects depends on how much work you put in, for me personally the hardest part is perfecting terminology and remembering all the little bits. Good luck with it.

It's a great subject with concepts which apply to general everyday life - that being said the only 'hard' part of psych is learning to apply a concept to a scenario - if you don't do this properly you will lose many marks

@camo: so funny that you would mention that case and encountering conflict. thats what i done for my conflict sac

anyway like everyone said, you will be fine doing 3/4 without 1/2. similarity would have been visual perception, but new study design means that they took that section out and replaced it with memory i think it was.

Just touch up on research methods and you'll be all set for 3&4 :)

Well a lot of the later chapters are extraordinary for encountering conflict.

As said before, the only catch up is research methods.
The subject isn't hard, there's just alot of knowledge you need to know. Concepts are fairly easy to understand :)
Bleh.

If you really want to prepare as well.

Here's a quick guide to understand what you should do to prepare.

1.Understand the lobes of the brain and what each part is understood to do. (Frontal, Parietal, Occipital and Temporal). Do this in terms of the what area contains what primary and association areas. Also understand the difference between the left and right side of the brain.
2. Understand the basic structure of a research report.
3. Understand the difference between normal waking consciousness and altered states of consciousness as well as some examples of each and what the characteristics of consciousness are.
4. Read about the theories and purposes of sleep and what each stage of n-rem (1-4) and rem does.
5. Understand the nervous system.

This will allow you for a massive start, and then you can start memory while everyone is dealing with the first two chapters. I find it easier for me to work some chapters ahead writing light notes and then adding detail them later on to buid my understanding. If you have any other questions just contact. :)
