What's that mean?
I know nothing haha. My building knowledge is based off 'HEY I KNOW THAT PLACE i got a free sausage there' etc. And also Mao told me I was a jaffie and I'm like 'wth's that?' xD

Mel, STRIP could mean, amongst other things, the Science Technology Research and Innovation Precinct. More at http://www.monash.edu.au/strip/
And yes, it has free sausages on Open Day!  :D It looks pretty cool too with that triple mirror-image staircase (any architects feel free to correct me)
Jaffie? use urbandictionary:

Australian English. Jaffy stands for "Just Another F****** First Year" and is used at universities by second year and above years to describe the latest intake.

"Some Jaffy asked me where the library was."
"The jaffies this year are unusually ugly".

because those melbourne people know they can't compete with monash engineering, and don't bother  :P

from what I've seen so far, meaning a handful of lecture theaters and offices, monash's eng building doesn't look too flash on the outside. I've yet to check out all the new high-tech stuff though   ;)

The engineering buildings are scary...they're not named, they're numbered...

I spent 20 minutes looking for "Number 60" on Enrolment day..

It feels slightly Orwellian there.

Lucky I'm doing commerce/science, hopefully don't have to go anywhere near the Eng. buildings!

Building 62 i think, or was it 52, looks pretty modern... > Melbourne

60 has got to be the worst building (now) on campus ;P

They'll have to refurbish it soon though...

no wonder they're called the "Exam Halls." They look crap and would bring back bad memories  :buck2:
