Hi everyone,

I would like to pick up Year 12 Physics but I am currently pondering on to pick up Physics or not. I am planning to drop German as it is not enjoyable for me this year and its hard as I've forgotten alot of the language already. I am a pretty good maths student (averaging 85-90% in methods) so would this be more easier or harder for me?
Thanks

Honestly,  the maths in VCE physics isn't hard.  Doing methods will give you some help but it's mainly about knowing which equations to use and how. I'd recommend looking at some videos on kinematics and seeing how difficult you find that to understand  as motion is the main carry over from year 11.

Hope this helps

I have just started 3/4 Physics and like miniturtle said, I can say that the maths involved is fairly simple. In addition, most of the problems involved that require maths are just the same questions specifically in the Forces/Motion topic ( e.g the 'cliff problem' is as hard as it gets but once you know how to solve one you have the knowledge to solve any further projectile motion questions). As this the main cross-over between 1/2 and 3/4 you shouldn't be at much of a disadvantage at all  ;) If you haven't already, talk to your school and teachers about it as you may gain a new perspective!

Hope I helped  :)

If you are good at maths, then you will find Physics not too bad. You will probably need to quickly look over things like motion that come up in Unit 3/4 based on Unit 1/2. You probably wouldn't find it too hard, and I am always in favour of doing Physics.
