Feeling really demotivated ..

I'm in year 11 and am doing 3/4 psych. I badly messed up my first sac (i got 44 out of 56) though the average across my class was 35/56, however the top scoring student achieved 52/56.

I really wanted a 40+ in this subject but with my next sac tomorrow (I have no confidence that I will do well) I am pretty much saying goodbye to my hopes for a 40.

I just wanted to know what types of grades I would need to achieve across my next unit 3/4 sacs in order to at least have a chance for 40+. And whether I could afford to mess up my first two sacs and still get my desired study score.

Hey there! I know it might be demotivating to receive a SAC mark you aren't happy with, but I urge you to never lose sight of your goal. You definitely have the potential to get a 40+. You have many more SACs and the exam where you can demonstrate your skill (and 44/56 isn't bad at all!). Your scores don't really matter, it's your ranking, and without any extra info we can't tell you exactly what scores you'd need for your other SACs for a 40+. You have a SAC tomorrow, and it's important you feel ready to do that - focus on the present and what you can do now and worry about the future later. Most importantly, don't lose your confidence. SACs are an opportunity to learn and grow as a student - if you don't make mistakes on your SACs, then how else will you learn? Don't feel demotivated, because if you push on, you will reap the results :)

I believe in you! You seem really passionate about this subject which is already a great step in the right direction. I don't think it is hard to get 40+ if you continue to work consistently throughout the year. I did biology last year, I absolutely hated it, and pretty much gave up halfway through the year. I wasn't even stressed during my final exam but I ended up with a 39 (scaled 40) which I'm pretty happy with. For reference, my SACs averaged around 85% in a cohort of ~120 I probably ranked in the 20s.

I think you can do it!

Good luck, honestly depends on how you compare to the rest of the state on your end of year exam, remember that SAC marks are moderated. Having a Psych tutor also helps. There are plenty of good ones around.
