Is Unit 1 Physics "important"?

Hey guys,

I will be joining Physics Unit 2 in term 3 after dropping another subject. However, I missed Unit 1 so will I be disadvantaged?
Is Unit 1 Physics related to Unit 2 or Unit 3 and 4?

I plan to catch up on Unit 1 over the holidays if need be.

Thanks!

LOL.
When I saw this question, I had to go onto VCAA and double check what was actually covered in Unit 1! :D

I can't remember it coming up in anything other than the Unit 1 assessment...

So, I would say go for it - Unit 1 is just a "extra knowledge"

Unit 1 was fairly easy for me. Just went over atomic structure, alpha, beta and gamma radiation. If you know the basics around those things it wont be a problem. Not sure if it was just my teacher by Physics was by far my easiest class.

I just consulted the study design, I'm pretty certain that you're at no real disadvantage for not doing unit 1. :)
If there's any concepts that do carry over into U2/3/4, I'm pretty sure your teacher/s will reteach or help you with the content. :)

Best of luck with picking the subject up! ;D

(Sorry for my late response haha!)
