AFL Finals 2018

I genuinely can't believe that Melbourne is going to be playing finals footy. I deadset don't know how I'm meant to be feeling, but I'm bloody stoked.

I reckon it's going to be a cracker of a finals series, too. My predicted finals for week one:

1. Richmond v. 4. Sydney
2. Collingwood v. 3. West Coast
5. GWS v. 8. Geelong
6. Hawthorn v. 7 Melbourne

But there's still so much that can change from this week's results alone.

Your thoughts? Predictions? ;D

Using your finals w1:

- Hawks to def Melb. I think Melb will crumble under the pressure (soz Nick)... then again, finals are a completely different ballgame. Anything is possible.
- GWS to def Geelong due to HG Adv. (?? are their finals played at Spotless)
- Collingwood to def WCE.
- Sydney to go out in straight sets. Don't rate them as a whole this year.

I can't see the Top 8 changing anymore in terms of teams leaving/entering. Geelong will win against Suns, probably absolutely thrash them given its in Geelong and well.. the Suns are bad. So. Give them a further % boost. Doesn't matter if PA win their match against the Dons.

So I reckon the winners for W1 finals (using your prediction):
* Richmond (to PF)
* Collingwood (to PF)
* GWS
* Hawks

I reckon the Pies will give Richmond a good run for their money. That atmosphere will be bloody fantastic.

I'm not sold the Tigers are going to win back-to-back. I'm silently cheering for Melb but recognise it's the first time they're in finals for a looong time... and the mental mindgames do wonders at that time!

Hope we go out on a high:

* Smash St Kilda
* Benny Brown to kick 5+ to (ideally) win the Coleman? Does the Coleman include finals too (actually don't know the answer to this)?

Wouldn't it be interesting if Suns managed to beat the Cats down in Geelong? That would essentially kill their finals hopes (provided PA win tonight)... unlikely but stranger things have happened.

Reserved seats for the MCC went on sale today. Figured I'd book after work. Just been notified they've already sold out.

I'm clearly not very experienced with finals.

I disagree with the second one. Though I would like Collingwood to win, they haven't got a hope against the Tigers imo. However West Coast haven't got an answer for Max Gawn, and for me that is a big issue. I'd tip Richmond to beat Collingwood, and Melbourne to beat WCE.

Please Dees and Tigers.

I don't really care about WC but really don't want to see the Pies in it, personal preference.

Richmond truly is the lesser of two evils. ;)
