Title: Time Series Question

I often come across a lot of questions asking what median smoothing to use on certain time series graphs.

For example, it might say something along the lines of "Judging by this time series, what median smoothing would be appropriate"

I can't find anything in the textbook and other resources to indicate how to answer this question. Can someone provide a brief guide outlining which median smoothing to use when data is cyclical/seasonal/fluctuating etc etc.

While median smoothing is in the curriculum, you will not need to decide which median shooting might be required.
