I think studying for english varies from person to person, but for me personally, i study best for english by practicing eg. writing practice essays, practicing unseen short answer questions, memorising quotes and getting feedback on what i have written. There is really no right or wrong way of studying for english and setting out your notes. I don't do standard english, however, you can find practice questions from the nesa sample papers or by asking your teachers for some more essay questions.

Edit: @angewina_nguyen made a big compilation of english standard trial questions which you can use as practice. Here's the link: https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=186728.0
