Whats up yall, imma keep this brief.
Yr 11 doing accelerated who's averaging 70 in History revs (done one sac so far, 3 left including exam and not gat) assuming I avg 85 for the rest of the year, what are the odds I can get a 40+ ss?
Wanna try to get a 98+ atar to get into Monash for bachelor of law but Imma def have to consider alternative unis. Idc how hard Imma have to study for revs imma get this shi to bring back that study score after a dissapointing result for the first sac. Anways, all opinions really appreciated, cheers yall

Try running it through a study score calculator to get a vague feeling. EG https://atar-calculator.deakin.edu.au/vce-study-score-calculator/
However this isn't as good as people answering. Someone else oughta give better feedback.

Your chances of getting 40+ are both 0% and 100% since rank and cohort strength are the only thing that matters and we can't predict anything based on percentage scores.

Wait a moment... what? Literally? So if you have a really strong cohort, say, like that are all getting 99%, and you get 98%, you gonna get a worse score than someone in a weak cohort who got top but only say 80%?? Surely not...

If you are in a really strong cohort but are last ranked, you will be guaranteed the lowest SAC score when your study scores come out. That is if everyone who got 99% gets say an A-A+, and you have a 98% SAC average then you will get either an A or lower for SACs. That being said even if you get an A, you can still do well in the exam as that score doesn't change and get a good study score. For the person in the weak cohort who's rank 1 and got 80% on SACs, the ultimate SAC score they receive by VCAA at the end of the year will be equivalent to the highest exam score in their cohort converted into SACs if that makes sense. So let's say the weak cohort guy gets a D on the exam but someone else in his class gets an A+. Then the rank 1 will get an A+ on his SACs (and D on the exam) as he is guaranteed the highest SAC score regardless of his exam performance.

So to answer your question the overall scores each person's cohort receives in the exam will scale their SACs and determine their scores. That's why some students in weak cohorts can get away with 80% on SACs as long as they're rank 1. Then come exam time if they smash it out and get 100% they're guaranteed 50 since they're rank 1 in SACs too. It's quite complicated but if you read into how study scores are calculated (somewhere in this forum) you'll understand it better than my dodgy explaining.

I am doing history too, I myself am wondering if I can get a study score 25+this year. So far my sac grades have been crap, my cohort is average in the state. Can someone predict my study score? So far I scored 50% on my sacs.

Try a study score calculator, but don't.
(Don't stress - use that time to work to improve instead!)
