Hey, I'm thinking of changing to this subject because it seems to have a lot of overlap with National Politics and I was wondering if you need 1+2 to do well in 3+4 or whether it doesn't make a lot of difference.

no you do not need units 1&2. Everything can be learnt solidly in units 3/4 without any prior knowledge. It doesn't make much difference on whether you've done 1/2 or not. pick it up, it's great.

Me and a friend both just picked up 3/4 without doing 1/2 last year (i did legal 1/2 in 2007, long story, and got an overall of 55% for the year....)

-She dropped it becuase she couldnt understand any of it (and shes really smart)
-I just got 100% on the last two tests.

Its a personal preference subject, good and easy for some, complicated and hard for others....

Me and a few kids did legal studies 3/4 without having done the 1/2 or anything related to legal. We both performed fairly well.
Most of the knowledge in 1/2 required will be reviewed again in 3/4.
