Advice on course pathway

Hi,

So I am considering Monash engineering/science, but I also want to try to do grad entry to medicine at Monash because my UCAT score is really bad (btw less than average).

Suppose I do get a spot in med, is it a good idea to study at university for like 10 years of my life? And like does HELP-HECS cover the 10 years of study? Yes, I know more spots are offered to biomed degrees but I really do not want to do biomed and I am not fussed if I do not get in because I can always go to become an engineer even though I don't even know what area I like.
