What are you doing to stay stress-free?

It's so important IMO to keep a balance through exams - to not get too wound up, and to give yourself time to relax and recuperate from exam to exam.

So, use this thread to update us on how you're doing that. :)

For me, I loved:

* A good walk each day to get out of the house/school/uni and enjoy the weather.
* Writing poetry - a very good mental release for me.
* Sport. Just sport in general. Watching, playing - it's all good.
* Just going out for a coffee and getting away from it all.
* Reading, but *not* reading for sake of exams. It's easy to get lost in a good book.

How about y'all? :)

Definitely been trying to be outdoors as much as possible - I find it super relaxing. Have made a point of riding my bike to the library rather than taking the tram (it’s faster too!) but it’s not quite doing it for me - I want to go riding a bit more but I keep sleeping in instead haha

Have also been watching Netflix - I’m halfway through season 3 of lucifer, but as much as I’m enjoying it, it’s not particularly relaxing.

I have so many books I want to read, the problem is that if it’s a good book I’ll just read it all in one go haha

Definitely need to be spending more time relaxing though because sitting at my desk studying most of the day is making me very restless

Atm I'm really into knitting so I've been doing that as a break, and I usually put an episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine on while I'm doing that. Grab a cup of tea and a few biscuits and I'm set 8)

Huge fan of walks at this time of the year, particularly as I live super close to the beach. It can be really soothing to just go to the beach, walk around a bit and then just sit and listen to the waves

Walks, reading and retail therapy (specifically for books). 😍

Speaking of books found a cool little bookshop whilst on my travels today in Brighton. Damn right I bought books from there. 😂

I have a particular song that I chuck on playlists and whenever that song plays I stop what I'm doing and exercise for a bit.
Nature and reading are big ones for me, but that tends to be more of a weeklyish activity rather than interspersing it with my study

I find it super relaxing to go for runs or bike rides, especially as a study break although it's more enjoyable when pushing myself rather than relaxing

To add to this- walking to the local games arcade. I get exercise and fresh air, and I can button-mash/stomp*/shoot things until I run out of credits. :D

*I don't personally recommend more than 3 rounds of DDR at a time. I ended up all crampy after 6 yesterday afternoon oops.

Usually after an exam I'll just come home and take the rest of the day off and watch a movie or something like that and walk my dogs a bunch, just to destress and declutter my mind for the next day.

I have my birthday during mid-year exams every year... so celebrating, partying or just generally chilling out seems to work really well for me, I revise before my exams and usually just chill between them while most of my class is cramming! ;D Also... I am kinda known for finding a new series of books to read during exam week... my mum just about murders me every time I do and my friends go crazy and give me pep-talks about distractions and failing! :-\ ;D ;) ::)
Someone told me to grow up yesterday. I immediately banned that person from ever riding my unicorn!

Bump! Reminder to do what you can (or need to) to manage stress effectively through busy periods. :)

What are you doing at the moment to unwind?
