Double ton up for Maxi as he's batted 6+ hours for Victoria. Surely he'll be in for the third Test. But, knowing the selectors, probably not. Also Mitch Marsh returns to the calculations with a big ton, but he probably won't be considered until he returns to bowling.

Who would you drop for Maxwell? Smarsh?

Based on?
The Line up and the flatness of the pitch. ... also the slow scoring rate.

Smith's really got to put his foot down now. The hosts 7 down at 209 now, with a 100 run deficit to narrow down...

Steven Smith is the best player in the world and as Ponting said possibly one of the greatest we will ever see. Far out he is an absolute legend, carries the team and bats like there is absolutely no pressure. Does it all around the world, not a flat track bully. Adapts his game everywhere.

Enjoy everyone while it lasts

Really happy for Paine. That's bloody great glovework.

Ali got dogged, he is out only because the groundsmen can't paint straight lines

I don't know if it was just me, but the lines seemed to be thicker than usual.

Surely Aus will be very upset with a loss here, and with only 92 to get, and the nearly-invincible Smudge to come, I really can't see them losing. Just a question of whether it is tonight or tomorrow. Looking like a good game between the Vics and NSW, though I don't know why they didn't enforce the follow-on? Really good batting from Glenn Maxwell, should be a certainty for the third Test, but we'll see. And about that stumping of Moeen, there is clearly no part of his foot behind the line touching the ground, most definitely out. Loved Starc's late bowling. :-)
