Marking Guidelines / Sample Answers

Hi everyone,

I only just got a chance to look at the marking guidelines and sample answers posted on the NESA site. Just some questions regarding those: are all sample answers an indication of what a full-mark response would look like, or could they have been awarded a lower mark? Also, would full marks for a question be possible even without including the points mentioned in the sample answers/ under the 'answers could include' lists? There are particular questions where I took a completely different approach to the sample answers so I'm quite scared.

No, sample answers normally aren't what a full mark answer look like. It's just an indication of how one could have approached it so you should rely more on the marking guidelines as that's what markers base their marking on.

The "Answers could include" section isn't limited to the list provided so if you did write about something that isn't listed, you can still earn full marks! It's all about how well you've explained your response to the question.
