Hello fellow atar peeps,
I am Nathan and I am currently in grade 11. However, we are starting Units 3 and 4 this term in my school. I currently study the following subjects:
- Specialist Mathematics
- Methods
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Chinese
- English
Do you, kind people, have any advice for me for these subjects or just in general for grade 12? This year is a bigun.
Thanks,
Nathan

I'm a VCE student, so note that - I don't know what you are, so my advice may not be as applicable.

I have one piece of advice: time management. For Methods, for instance, I personally did a lot more cramming-for-the-SACs than I should've, meaning that now, in preparation for the exam, my practise exam results are... somewhat worrying. (SAC average is around 70-75%, but I'm yet to get 50%+ on exam 1 and 60%+ on exam 2)

So in other words, try and balance your time ebtween subjects - and cramming for SACs is not a good longterm thing. :) Try and do something for every subject every day of studying.

Another piece of advice, too - take breaks. Make sure you're hydrated. Keep healthy. Etc. :) The ATAR is not worth sacrificing your health.

So, Methods advice - practise questions consistently, make a bound reference all through the year yet do your best not to use it in exams!

English - similarly, practise; read your texts over and over, watch your films multiple times, take notes of good quotes to use and the like. Put your essays up on here/get feedback from somewhere, and use that to improve your grade - and remember English is in your top four whatever.

All the best! :)
