Is it hard to get work placements, internships if you go to Monash?

Is the competition high to get internships, IBL placements etc?

Depends on the circumstances of how visible the internship/ placement is, what the prereqs are and who's applying. It's not as competitive as say, getting a full-time job, but at least a little competition with others that apply for it.

I talked to a guy from the IT/comp sci department at the change expo and he said about 30% of students get into IBL (in the IT or comp sci area) but that 99% of them get hired by that company. The 1% would be if they went on holiday so the company couldn’t hold their offer.
