Biology marking. What do they look for?

Can someone please tell me what they look  for in questions and stuff so I can answer them properly and achieve  higher mark. Been failing this subject. Did good in the AP1 60% . FOR ME ITS GOOD SINCE THIS IS THE FIRST SCIENCE SUBJECT I AHVE PASSED. and after that I have been failing constantly. AP3 is coming up so please provide me tips and tricks etc thanks

They could be looking for anything depending on the question. My advice is learn the NESA key words, so when you get a question you know exactly what you have to do. I'm a visual person so i usually annotate this on the question when I read it and brainstorm what you need to write before hand. Annotate, circle and underline all they key words in the question it sounds silly but it really helps.
Another thing that I know is useful is always look at the marks before you answer a question, this tells you how much to write, if it is a two mark question about enzymes then write two points, if it's a four mark question write four points. I find they commonly mark bio questions this way.

For your study i would recommend doing past HSC questions and then ALWAYS mark them, use the marking criteria on the website and read the sample answers this way you can start to see what they will be marking you on and what they expect you to say.
