School captain/leadership

Hi all,

So today my sub school coordinator hunted me down and got me to sign up for school captain. I did consider it at the start of the year, but by the time the applications opened and closed I never applied. I did listen to my coordinator and applied when she asked me to, but because I only gave myself like 10 minutes to answer the applications questions I feel like my answers were weak. With that being said I was told that I was already on the interview list for either Tuesday or Wednesday. I wasn’t too fussed about my answers as I wasn’t sure if I even wanted the role or not, so I talked to some of my teachers and some of the school captains and I think I’m interested in the role. I’m going up against one girl who has been a captain since year 8 so I want to prepare myself for any questions they might ask me during my interview. If anyone has any sort of interview questions or tips it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers :)

Hey! Welcome to AN...

So I went for interview in Yr 11, and the main questions that I got asked were "What was my vision for the school" and "What did I think leadership was"

Answer these and you were home safe...

Hope that helps... :D

for my interview I got questions like;
"Why do you want to be school captain?"
"What do you want to achieve in the role?"
"What are your strengths?"
Stuff like that. tbh, even if you don't get asked the questions above, i highly recommend knowing what to say to all of them, as the answers can be incorporated into other questions easily. I am also year 11 and )successfully) finished my interview last week

Hey!

Where does your interest in being school captain come from?
Why do you think your co-ordinator sought you out?

Some questions to consider:
- How will you manage being school captain with the time requirements of year 12?
- How have your previous experiences prepared you for this?
- What impact would you like to have as school captain?
- What do you think school captains have done in the past?
- How would you represent the school?

Just some other ones to think about:

 - Any past leaders that have been role models for you?
 - What is a challenge in your life, and how did you overcome it?
 - Who else in your year group do you believe would make a good leader? Why?

Just a few more I got asked, as well as most of the ones above  ;D
