You can ask me this question every week and half the time my answer will be the same — including today.

Now That the Party's Over - The Lazy Susans. One of my favourite bands of all time - they just have this raw and real sound that I really vibe with - always feel pretty good after a listen of their music. Really sad I might not hear them live this year, I've done it once every 6 or so months for the past couple of years :'(

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

Won't go into too much detail since you could write multiple thesis on this.

This album plays both forwards and backwards and tells two different stories. The 14 tracks can be considered to be all paired up. E.g. LUST. and LOVE., PRIDE. and HUMBLE., FEEL. and LOYALTY., BLOOD. and DNA. etc also with tracks having multiple pairings but it all comes together cohesively for the whole album. You can kind of see based on the names of the tracks how the order of the tracks would change the meaning of the album.

Juice WRLD - Legends Never Die and Green Day - Kerplunk!.

Oddly enough (perhaps as a result of this thread ???), I've gotten back into listening to albums as opposed to playlists - it's so easy to let the stories they tell pass us by when playing the songs individually in a playlist :)

Definitely agree, even if you listen to full albums occasionally they do add an extra layer of understanding to each individual track giving more context when you listen to singles on their own (given the album is made well).

Currently, it is still definitely a singles era so there are quite a bit of albums which aren't thematically coherent and play more like a playlist.

The closest I've got to listening to a whole album all at once is just recently - 'With All My Heart', 2018 (I think), the latest album by Amira Willighagen (her first was Amira, then Merry Christmas, now With All My Heart; I like youtube having albums up as a whole playlist. :) I strongly recommend, by the way.)
