Thanks to everyone who submitted a moderator application over the last month or so!! We'll be announcing our newest state moderators very soon. In the meantime...

We're super excited to announce our newest national moderator!

This user is just the fifth National moderator from NSW. She joins former Natmods elysepopplewell, jakesilove, and myself, and current Natmod sudodds (ironically, her first post was to Susie, asking her for a hand with history after a Trials lecture). She's been around the forums for just over a year, and in that time has made a tremendous impact on the community. She's created amazing resources, helped countless students, and helped make AN a happier and better place in many, many ways. She is exactly the sort of person who should be helping guide AN into the future - And we're stoked to see her do just that in her new leadership role.

Congratulations to our newest National Moderator: Beatroot!

Hi everyone!!  ;D  ;D

Woah this is actually so wild. Like my brain is still processing everything. It's so weird that I have the cute lil blue squares on my profile. Imma say a speech now, like they do at the Oscars ;)

Hi yes, I would like to thank the academy. And by the academy, I mean the community of ATAR Notes. I seriously cannot thank you guys enough for welcoming me into your community. I was literally just a girl who signed up for the site for the free notes (#exposed). Then I heard about the free trial lectures back in 2017 and I just needed hope and guidance. I remember attending Susie's Ancient History lecture and I'm pretty sure she opened her lecture with a Pompeii meme and at that moment, I was like "man I gotta venture more into the world of AN. They seem pretty cool".

The thing that striked me the most about AN was that- there were people out there who was darn passionate about teaching high school content and just wanted to help high school students out in general. That really amazed me. You guys do so much for thousands of students in NSW and VIC and that is seriously so selfless and so beautiful. You guys made education fun and that was the thing that drew me in.

I really enjoyed modding Society & Culture and Visual Arts this year- most especially Visual Arts since this was my favourite subject ever during my HSC. Even though I'm well into Semester 2 of my first year at film school, I always find myself going on AN because I just really love the community. I just love helping other students out- after getting so much help during my final term of my HSC year. I always feel that I need to repay back the favour because you guys do so much and it really does amaze me.

I really think that it's important to shine hope on high school students- most especially Year 12 students as they go through their final year of high school and sit their final exams. Like mentioned previously- I was just a girl who signed up the free notes and went to the lectures in hopes of raising her 65% Ancient half yearly mark into something better. And indeed- the help I got from AN got me a Band 5 for Ancient and most importantly- a newly developed self confidence.

Very recently, I started taking photos and videos for the AN NSW Lecture team and it's been absolute pleasure watching you guys teaching Year 12 students, sharing knowledge and creating hope. Also, I've made plenty of friends from this site, which also warms my heart <3

Thank you for reading my cheesy speech and I can't wait for what lies ahead in the future !!

Bea xo

PS: Nearly forgot to mention that it's nearly my birthday soon and this feels like a lil birthday gift from the community which again warms my heart <3 <3 I'm blushing.
