Reminder that the Allocate+ timetabling preference closes tomorrow (29th) at 10 am.
As I've mentioned before, I'm struggling to enrol, so how is my timetabling going to work if I haven't enrolled by then?

You'll still be able to allocate yourself into classes when it reopens (next week), but Allocate+ will be in adjust mode (rather than preference mode), meaning class registrations are updated live (i.e. first come first serve). Anyone who has selected their preferences before the closing date will already be allocated to a class once Allocate+ reopens again (everyone else will be able to select from the remaining spots). Also, it's probably worth noting that if a certain class is full, it's not permanent - people move around, so check back regularly if you want a certain class time :) You'll also be able to request swaps at this time.

If I only wanted to check out the Clayton campus and the Halls Of Residence, would I be better off going to an open day or doing a guided tour??? Also it's my understanding that the Halls Of Residence are a 10-15 minute walk away from the campus centre, do Monash offer any transport services around the campus??

There are tours provided on open day and  there's a free sharebike system around campus but the vast majority of people just walk everywhere

hope this helps :)

If you're anxious about your timetable or want to double check your preferences before allocate+ opens this morning, I've found a way to get your timetable early via Monash stalker space. All you need to do is add your 2019 timetable to your google calendar via this link, and that should give you what you need. It seems to be working for me, as it shows that I don't have all of my first preferences. Give it a shot and see if it works for you.

Unit guides for 2019 units are slowly being released.

For first years - it is a great way to have a look at what sort of assessments you will be having during the semester and a general overview on what you will be learning.

Just had a Moodle pop up for a unit but the new-look Moodle makes it really hard to navigate it. :')
Also looks like my faculty is fully implementing the whole "discovery-explore-apply-close the loop" learning style that's only been for the pharmacy kids previously. I've had a look at some of the slides that I could find and I'm already not a fan of the style, but we'll see 😅

The new Moodle is awful. Can't believe I'd ever say it but I wish we had the old moodle back!

surely we don't need to close it every time we open moodle .......

Aesthetically right now moodle looks horrible but I think usability will be so much worse

Can confirm, after trying to use Moodle in a class setting today, that imo usability has gone down the drain

Did they end up finding a new name for it yet?

I don't think so.
