Yesterday there was a fire where I had been camping just a few days earlier. Nice that I escaped that one

Temperature outside reached 43 degrees today. Luckily I was working in air conditioning, the heat hit like a brick wall when I walked out  :P

No one is talking about the weather over the SCG? Stumps just called over there at the 4th Ind vs Aus test due to rain.

One minute it's boiling hot, not a cloud in sight then BAM! A storm comes out of no where lasting 10 minutes then goes back to boiling hot, now a bit more humid.

This is how the weather has been all week. I've been woken up by the loud thunder  >:(

Just got back from a fam camping trip to the Snowy Mountains, and it was terrifically balmy! Some of the overnight temps were well below 10 degrees, and some days I even wore a jumper.  :o

Though I still managed to get really sunburnt somehow?? Perhaps it was the longer daylight hours - didn't get dark until about 9.30pm, because the altitude of our campsite was 1500m.  ;D

Sounds great!
Sunburn-wise, though, I'd expect you would get more sunburnt at a higher altitude because there's less atmosphere to block the UV.  The rough numbers on Wikipedia suggest you'd be exposed to 20 - 30% more UV up there.  Still a great part of the world to visit, though...

That's a hefty increase in UV!
Well, lesson learned, now I know to be more careful at high altitudes.  ;D

I hope everyone is really interested to know that the weather is lovely and cool in Kolkata... much nicer than being in Aus right now. That is about the only positive of being here though atm.
