How's everyone preparing for the exam given it's tomorrow? Personally, I'm just rereading my texts (planning to read Ransom and the screenplay of The Queen, and hopefully get time to skim Pride and Prejudice, also recheck I know about how Austen uses satire, since that's likely to come up according to my teacher).

I really don't think I'm going to do much - I am just so exhausted today. I'm going to spend the day reading over old essays/summaries for my texts.

I love these poll options btw - they're so expressive.

Best of luck for tomorrow!

Dropping in to say -- to all the Year 12s reading this, English Mainstream or not, good luck! Go kill it :)

I don't really go on here anymore. Feel free to DM though

I have no idea about the UCAT percentile required to get an interview/accepted into medicine. Mine was the first year that they used the UCAT. Just try and maximise your ATAR and take care of yourself.

Hey guys, my bro has his english exam tomorrow and is feeling very sick! He's been sick for the past week, what happens if hes too sick to do the exam tomorrow, should he just not go? And he did his GAT both last year and this year, does VCAA use the better GAT mark for DES?

The GAT is designed only as a safeguard so that you end up receiving a score in the end. Normally speaking, your derived exam score will always be lower than what you actually would have scored and your 2020 GAT score would be used. Therefore, unless you're feeling *very* unwell, I'd still recommend going to the exam. Additionally, I'm pretty sure you can still apply for a derived exam score even if you do sit the exam, you'll just need to make sure that you attain all the relevant documentation (e.g. medical certificates etc).

If it's COVID symptoms in ANY way, students are required to stay at home. I think they'll then get a DES.
