Thought this would be an interesting discussion, where you can pen your thoughts about the best make-up of your team (and others) over time.

I'll start with Melbourne's - I did this on a recent flight haha.

FB: N Jetta | O McDonald | J Lewis
HB: M Hibberd | J Lever | B Vince
C: A Neal-Bullen | A Brayshaw | N Jones
HF: C Petracca | J Hogan | J Melksham
FF: B Fritsch | T McDonald | C Pedersen
R: M Gawn | C Oliver | J Viney
I/C: C Salem | J Harmes | D Tyson | M Hannan

With our seconds:

FB: D Keilty | H Petty | J Smith
HB: J Hunt | S Frost | J Wagner
C: B Stretch | C Maynard | D Kent
HF: H Balic | S Weideman | A vandenBerg
FF: C Spargo | T Smith | J Garlett
R: M King | J Kennedy Harris | T Bugg
I/C: O Baker | D Johnstone | P McKenna | L Filipovic

We're having a great run with injuries at the moment. Bolded those in the seconds close to the firsts. My preferred 22 has already changed a fair bit from pre-season, so I'm interested to see how it develops.

Looks good! Clearly you follow the VFL...

My team is Richmond, I'll give you the best of the seconds as well.

Best 22:
FB/ Grimes | Rance | Vlastuin
HB/ Houli | Astbury | Ellis
C/ Grigg | Prestia | McIntosh
HF/ Lambert | Caddy | Edwards
FF/ Butler | Riewoldt | Rioli
R/ Nankervis | Martin | Cotchin
IC: Short | Broad | Conca | Castagna

Note: I have decide to include all the injured players for correct depiction of the best 22.

Here is the seconds:
FB/ Balta | Garthwaite | Morris
HB/ Ellis | Miller | Markov
C/ Naish | Lloyd | Silvestro
HF/ Baker | Moore | Ballard
FF/ Bolton | Chol | Stengle
R/ Soldo | Miles | Wood
IC: Coleman-Jones | Higgins | Drummond | Townsend 23P: Thompson

I'll follow your style with the bolding of players that are close to selection.
A big surprise for me is how well Broad is playing and Short's game is taking a new level. Castagna is still injured but he will have a challenge to earn his spot back.

Hey, welcome to the forums! Great to have you here. How do you think the Tigers are faring this season?

That's a nice 22. Is your Ellis in the firsts Brandon or Corey? There's some nice depth there but honestly I'm a bit surprised there's not more. Richmond's a very even team. Lots of very solid contributors.

It was a cracker, wasn't it? Could have been a throw, though. ;)

A couple of months on:

HB: M Hibberd | S Frost | B Fritsch
C: J Harmes | A Brayshaw | C Salem
HF: J Melksham | J Hogan | A Neal-Bullen
F: J Garlett | T McDonald | C Spargo
R: M Gawn | C Oliver | J Viney
I/C: J Lewis | N Jones | C Petracca | D Kent

IN: Frost, Garlett, Spargo, Kent
OUT: Vince, Pedersen, Tyson, Hannan

Obvious emphasis on pace, there. Hunt also close for the same reason.

Yeah I think pace has been a big consideration for most teams, with Melbourne being the fastest in attack and the Tiges in defence. Our best 22 hasn't changed much, and we will regain Butler and Lambert soon, but it will be interesting how they play fresh from injury.
Obviously Higgins has been a good surprise for us and his goal was amazing, so Higgins is in for Broad as he has dropped off his form at the moment (Having said this, he'll probably retain his spot). Conca is questionable as he can have some monumental brain fades during games, but he hasn't done this as regularly this year. Going back to your earlier question, yes Brandon Ellis over Corey Ellis, we have yet to see Corey Ellis's potential really so he probably leave the club at the end of the year (Miles, Lloyd and Townsend might face similar fates as we get Tom Lynch - even though we have done well with our senior players contracts, by updating them to potentially lower wages on longer deals).

Here it is for reference:

FB/ Grimes | Rance | Vlastuin
HB/ Houli | Astbury | Ellis
C/ Grigg | Prestia | McIntosh
HF/ Lambert | Caddy | Edwards
FF/ Butler | Riewoldt | Rioli
R/ Nankervis | Martin | Cotchin
IC: Short | Higgins | Conca | Castagna
