Busman July Atar Notes Slides

Hey, so I was just reading through the atar notes slides for busman and came across something that I'm not sure of. On slide 36 (Unit 3 Activity Question 2), it highlights that Tesla cannot be used as an example. Why is this? because it's not an Australian business?
Thanks.

Hi! Yes, you're right - it's because Tesla is not an Australian business.

The reason I used Tesla to highlight that point was because last year, many teachers taught their students about Tesla because it has such a unique and effective operations system. It was kind of a goldmine case study. However, when it came to the VCAA assessors' meeting, VCAA determined that because Tesla was not Australian, any exam answers that used Tesla would lose marks.

It's important that when you research case studies, you determine that they aren't just a business that sells its products/services in Australia, but instead has an Australian base (e.g. Toyota Australia, McDonalds Australia).

Hope that helps!
