You are cutting out your safety net, in that a bad performance in another subject is going to have a much larger impact on your ATAR than if it would be relegated to 5th subject and chemistry move up to 4th place.

i don't reckon you should be doing too much work for chemistry (in the sense that you start neglecting your other subjects in order to achieve a marginal improvement), but dont just throw it away. Put some effort in it maybe, do some questions and all. i reckon you could get a decent score without knowing all the minute details

Nice, that's innovative. I agree with Yuki; put a little love into chemistry just in case the bell curve throws you a curve ball. Seeing as ATARs are based off ranks, doing poorly in one subject (even if less is attributed to it) may not be negated well by a higher score in another subject, as percentiles work differently to percentages. The answer to your question is probably a mathematical one which could be best answered by a statistician.

well straight out no what if on the day of the physics,methods english exam fck then what ? It always good to give all your subjects the same attention and why not try for the chem its weighting  66 percent get a plus nek min high 40s
