Engineering/Science or just Engineering?

hey guys, the deadlines for uni preferences are coming closer, and Im starting to stress  :buck2:

I want to do Engineering at Monash (not sure of the specialty yet), but I have this urge to also do a bachelor of science and major in astrophysics.

At the moment Im leaning towards Mechatronics engineering, and If I chose to do a double degree with Science, would there be any major benefits. Are there many jobs that combine mechatronics engineering and astrophysics?

Im still deciding whether I should just do Engineering, or do both........Im so confused  :-\

Also, there were only about 6 offers made last year for mechatronics eng/science.......so does that mean its an unpopular combination?

thanks guys

say if kurrymuncher chose Eng/Sci, if he didn't like it, can he drop either Engineering or Science so then he can just do a single degree?

kurrymuncher, telescope engineering would definitely require knowledge of both :P

And yes, it's an unpopular combination but not an unenjoyable one! I have a mate doing it and she loves it. Go for it, I say :)

I am also wondering if i should so science/engineering or just engineering.

I'm not passionate about either but i just want to get an okay job and cant think of anything else to do lol.

My main question is how much of an increased workload would sci/eng be compared to just engineering? After vce im dreaming of a slightly less stressful next 4/5 years.

i imagine people at monash scoff at single degree-ers lol, im sure this isnt true.

So yes, what are the workloads like for these two courses?

thanks!
