Title: Y12 U4 Source Investigation Help - Arab-Israeli Conflict
Post by: jasmine383 on May 03, 2020, 04:49:18 pm
Hi!

This is my task for my history source investigation:
Investigate an area associated with the development of Israel as a disputed sovereign Territory from the 1948 Declaration of Independence to the Oslo Peace Accords of 1993. Present your findings in an independent source investigation.

I chose the 1967 Arab Israeli (Six Day War). Do you think this key inquiry question responds to the task outline?
To what extent was Arab involvement in the 1967 Six-Day War an attack on Israeli sovereignty?

These are my sub-q:
1.   To what extent was the six day war an inevitable conflict?
2.   What role did Nasser play in uniting Arabs against Israeli sovereignty?
3.   To what extent did the aftermath of the war, particularly with Israel’s victory and Arab defeat and humiliation, create greater dispute amongst Palestinians with the development of Israel as a disputed sovereign Territory?
4.   What are the major contemporary ideas surrounding this issue?

Thanks   :D

Hey!

So, not a QCE student but I've done Arab Israeli as part of my HSC Modern History course so I thought I'd put my 2 cents in.

Your question seems good, I'm not sure about the exact requirements of a U4 Source Investigation but it addresses the task by evaluating the impact of your event on Israeli sovereignty. As long as you stick to analysis and don't branch off into narrative, you should be fine.

Hope this helps and good luck with your investigation!
