Title: Help
Post by: alonelyboy on September 20, 2019, 05:23:58 pm
Hi there,

I'm in year 11 and kind of thinking about year 12 VTAC applicatons for VCE.

I'm planning on studying abroad for my undergraduate studies , mainly science in the US. But I was wondering if that degree would be recognised in australia at univeristies like monash and uni of melb.

Also, what would the application process be like and what extra tests would I require?

If your intention was to study your full undergrad degree in the US and postgrad in Melbourne, I’m pretty sure they usually accept it. However, you should ask the unis in Melbourne directly to be sure.

Also, what would the application process be like and what extra tests would I require?

- you will likely have to sit the SAT - a seperate test to the VCE
- you need to apply for each individual uni you want to go for directly, AFAIK (reminder that the US school year starts at a different time to Australian unis, so you’ll need to find out when to apply and such)
- you need to have an impressive set of extracurriculars for Ivy League colleges
- there might be more I’m not aware of, so certainly do your research.

I remember there being a very helpful guide for the US SAT here on AN, but I can’t find it right now. (If someone finds it, please place the link below.)
