"Overload"

hi.

has anyone thought of "overloading" a semester? Like instead of doing 4 subjects per semester, you do 5?

I thought about doing it next year (2nd year) for one of my semesters. I dunno though. It seems a bit too much work to be doing 5 subjects in a semester. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER!!

I think it would impact negatively on your marks. It's certainly better to do it in 2nd year than 3rd year though. However, a summer semester would be the best option if you're willing to lose some of your summer break (it's NYD to March). I did a summer semester and I haven't felt the effects of not having a break yet. I don't need the extremely long summer. Most people spend it working anyway. That's the time I have the least work (tutoring).

For summer, just go to the State Library, where the air conditioning is strong enough to severely dry your skin ;)

Or any other library for that matter. No distractions either!

Or home, if you're lucky enough to have air conditioning.

I believe you also have to have a certain average in the previous semester (H2B or higher I think) in order to be eligible to overload. By the way, welcome back to VN, Jackson :).

If you're willing to sacrifice your social life to an extent, it really isn't that bad.

I just came out of an overloaded semester relatively unscathed. It *may* have been a negative pressure on my marks, but the effect is minimal compared to the actual subjects you choose.
