2012 VCAA User Acceptance Testing Question.

hi guys another question.

In the 2012 VCAA exam there is the case study regarding the implementation of a new system for asthmatics and a research team. (If you've read it you'll know what I'm talking about).

Anyway, they ask who will be involved in the "User Acceptance Testing"...

The answers say that the research team and the actual professor in charge of the research team will be involved in the user acceptance testing, but not the asthmatics.. why?

Asthmatics will be using the new system.. but why are they not involved?

Thanks guys.

I am taking ITSD this year, but I'm not exactly going to get a 50

I think the name kinda implies why -- user acceptance testing. The research team are the ones hiring your imaginary IT firm to build this system.

Whilst the asthmatics are one of the end users of the system, they do not give the final 'yes' on project completion -- they do what they are tasked with by the researchers.

Anyone else have any other thoughts?

User Acceptance Testing is meant for those that hired the development team to see if the solution meets the requirements proposed. It is like a check before they sign the papers and accept the solution. In this case, the asthmatics aren't in charge of developing the solution, nor are they the ones that hired the developers, thus they are not included in the User Acceptance Testing :)
