log four- friday, 20 septemberterm 3 is OVER!!This past week has been the slowest week ever, and even though we had a short day today, every minute felt like 5 minutes. It was agonising, but it's over. It's been so nice to end the term with some gorgeous weather here in Melbourne. I've honestly been so over school these passing weeks it's a joke. I haven't been motivated lately and that's definitely reflected in my reports and stuff. I'm super keen to just not do anything for the next two weeks.
I submitted my application for KLD and that is now ticked off the list for the year! Students get notified of the outcome on November 22nd. Fingers crossed for all the yr10's applying!
This year has gone by so quickly, and it made me think of how next year and the year after will go even quicker. I remember in yr7 we would always talk about VCE and now it's practically here on my doorstep. It's wild. Next term (Term 4) is basically only 5 or so weeks and then we have our exams. I think my last day is around Dec 13th or so and omgg
ggggg I just want summer back already
Here's my subject updates and holiday homework:
ENGLISHWe successfully finished our The Longest Memory and Black Diggers work
I received good feedback on my practice sac, but I haven't got my marks back for the comparative. I'll most likely get it back after the holidays.
Our holiday homework is to draft our oral presentations and statement of intentions, and annotate three pieces of evidence relating to our topic. Orals are so kickback I love them so much ahrghssjdjks
Our next SAC is our orals in Week 2 !
MATHSguys i go
T A 90% ON MY TESTMaths has been kicking my ass lately but I've managed to fight back!!! We had this STUPID GOOSE PROBLEM (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ that the whole class could barely solve. (whoever else is using the Oxford MyMaths 10/10A Victorian Curriculum textbook might know what I'm on about) and basically it's a quadratic application, where you have to figure out the intercepts and turning point to answer the worded problem about this goose pen. It's easy when you think about it but when I was in there, jesus I was SHIT. I managed to scrape through though!
My holiday homework is some questions on drawing circle graphs I didn't complete in class.
HEALTHHHD's been chill, we've polished up the economic classification of countries and are moving onto SDG's. My next sac is Week 4 of next term (:
I've set myself holiday homework to finish my flashcards about SDG and type up my notes. My books are running out (I have one for notes and another for practice question) and I hope I can hang on until the end of the term
HISTORYWe've moved onto Civil Rights, mainly focusing on human rights and First Nations people. History's gone by pretty slow but I'm enjoying the content. My holiday homework is my sac, which is to write a historical inquiry about a particular event impacting First Nations civil rights. I've chosen the 1965 Freedom Rides as my topic, and I've received some great feedback on my draft (o˘◡˘o)
SOCIOLOGYWe've finished our topic of Forced Marriage, and completed our two-part sac (A brochure and a test). In soc we've mostly watched documentaries and movies and I'm lowkey over it but it's whatever. I don't have any hw for this subject
HUMAN BIOWe've been looking at cell diffusion and osmosis and we recently completed a prac. We had to test how the mass of potato slices change in differing solutions, each with changing concentrations of sucrose and distilled water. Bio is one of my favourite subjects at the moment, and I'm 100% looking forward to it next year!
My holiday homework was to work on my research poster, which I've conveniently finished, so I'll send that in for some feedback and see how I've gone.
I'm sooooooooooooo keen for holidays
My break will consist of going to the gym, getting my second lobe piercing (!!!), playing BTS world, doing hw, and maybe going out for some boba and kbbq. What are you guys up to for your holidays?
I think that's all for today!
See you soon, AN.
