Help with 'Show Your Working'

Hi guys,

I was hoping that someone could clarify whether you are able to skip from equations like e=mc^2 straight to the answer or do you have to completely write every variable in the equation like, e=(3*10^3)(3*10^8)^2. I was wondering because all the answers always list out each variable after giving the equation and so on. I thought this was just to help students but I just wanted to make sure. Or is it actually one of those 3 marks versus 2 marks scenarios where you only do it for 3 mark questions.

Thanks.

Unless it's a 1 mark question, then yes, you do have to replace the variables with their values - in full. That includes substituting 6.67*10^(-11) for G, 3*10^8 for c... It seems a bit excessive, but that's VCE Physics :)
