Congratulations to everybody, regardless of results. This year has been terrible and you've all come out of it winners just by getting to the end successfully. Have a well deserved break

Hi Im in year 11, a little disappointed with my VCE Legal 3/4 result - 33.  I received a B, B+, and B+ on exam, I thought I'd be closer to 36-38.

My predictions:
(Raw scores all)
[Did HHD last year, got 31]
English: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
Revs: 32, exam C+ [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 32-40]
Methods: 27, exam 1 C, exam 2 C [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 27-32]
Texts: 36, exam B [range of scores if being realistic-optimistic: 36-46]
ATAR: I dreamed I got 79.85, let's predict that.
The course I want requires probably at least 91 ATAR... :'(
That was my prediction.
English: 40>39.26 A little sad with this but only because I'd've liked it to stay at 40 scaled. It was around where I was hoping/expecting, anyway. I also have a question, since it doesn't seem to add up to me - the three GAs were A+ A+ and A; wouldn't this letter grade stuff be higher? Also, exam was A.
Revs: 32>30.96 Square on prediction. Including the exam - C+! Oddly, GA1 and 2 were both A's. Very proud of that exam C+ given the amount of pain I was in during it.
Methods: 34>39.16 I'm shocked about this one. Good shocked. How did I get A on both exams?! (And C+ in SACs. Ah well.) Higher than my predictions by a good chunk. Slightly sad it didn't scale to over 40, but given that I wasn't expecting that I don't mind.
And the killer, Texts: Despite getting a B+ on the exam, and on Unit 4, and an A on Unit 3, I somehow got 34>34.19. What? My teacher was predicting low to mid 40s. I was expecting mid-high 30s. What happened here? And someone else in my class also got lower than they were expecting - expected it to be their best score at it was their worst. The few in my class I've talked to all were disappointed with Texts. I'm just very confused and somewhat disappointed (no scratch that - very disappointed). Didn't believe the teacher's 'you'll get mid 40s' but still expected 40! I mean I expected similar for English and Texts. And now, what?
ATAR: 85.00 At the start of the year I wouldn't have been happy with it in the least - I confidently expected, all through my growing-up years, 90+. I even wanted - expected if I worked hard - to beat Yertle's 93.something (and his Methods score, but never mind that). But now, after all sorts of things this year (lockdown being the least of 'em) I'm happy with that. I was hoping for higher because I want to get my first preference, but hopefully (though not likely) SEAS will cover that. 14 January, here I come.

So in summary: ok with English (would've preferred more), happy with Revs, delighted with Methods and shocked and disappointed with Texts. ATAR I'm happy with, though it may destroy my hopes for a double degree where I want.

I'm in the same boat! Got A+, A+, A and ended up with a 38. 🤷‍♀️
Better luck next year! :)

hey guys!
If someone could offer an opinion I'd be really grateful! I'm really disappointed with my English study score I got a raw 37 which scaled down to a 35. My results were as follow:
Unit 3: Averaged 85% (GA1- A)
Unit 4: Achieved 90% for all assessments (GA2- A)
Exam: Achieved an A.
I'm so confused about how I achieved such a low study score? I understand sacs are moderated but to this extent to only achieve a 37? :(

What rank were you? Also, what was the average score of your cohort on the SACs?

Also, I think it's less about the percentage and more about the actual grade distrubution. I don't think the 2020 grade distribution has been released yet so here's the 2019 one for English: https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/statistics/2019/section3/vce_english_ga19.pdf

I'm not sure sorry we were never told, although I do know that I was one of the top achievers in my class. On average I don't believe our cohort did the best on sacs when comparing to my friends and others I always achieved quite above them all? I've contacted VTAC about it because I believe my marks are poorly reflected in my study score and they just laughed at me, super frustrating!  :(

If you weren't rank 1, and rank 1 underperfomed on the exam, then your SAC scores were probably negatively affected bc of this. Did you underperform on the exam? Also, are 40+ for English common in your school in past years? If you can, ask past students from your school what scores they got and what SS that led to for them as the difficulty of SACs was probs very similar to your SACs this yr.

Another thing you could do is order an inspection of your English exam for $25.55. Fill in this form before 19 February 2021 I think: https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Documents/vce/results/StatMarkInspReturnForm.pdf

Don't really know but here goes
English: 43
Methods: 35
Specialist: 33
Chemistry: 42 (the exam was not my best performance unfortunately)
French: 33
ATAR: predicting a 98.5 although I'd love to hit that 99.

Biology: 50 (last year)
English: 49 (wow...but secretly I was hoping for something this good)
Chemistry: 43 (disappointed but expected)
Methods: 41 (surpassed expectations after that exam)
French: 37
Specialist: 36
ATAR: 99.70 (pretty much thanks to that English score)

Very happy! The only disappointment is that chemistry didn't even make my primary four.
