^What would you put it down to?

I have no bloody idea. It's the same personnel.
Probably mental?

All it confirms is that they have the ability to play well when they want to.

Bolton sacked. Despite poor record, I'm a bit surprised. Not sure why, though.

I agree, Bolton was stiff despite the bad record. They simply don’t have a good list, I don’t think any other coach would do much better.

Never should have removed Ratten IMO. Who do you think they'll go for to replace Bolton?

I also completely agree, he still required time to improve Carlton but it was somewhat expected due to their season's poor performance. Don't think getting a new coach makes the situation any better

Brad Scott for next season. People forget that he took North to two prelims.

Interesting timing given Scott's recent departure from North, isn't it?

Bolton's sacking today really reeked of a club in denial tbh. In their comments to the press today, they said that they were looking forward to having a new coach to continue their plan to rebuild the club etc etc. That they haven't even paused to reflect on the adequacy of that plan, particularly in light of the many valid criticisms that have been made about their list management and their football department, and have instead scapegoated Bolton speaks to a really broken football club that would be hard pressed running a piss up at a brewery let alone running their club to a premiership.

How would you go about rebuilding the club, vox?

LoGiudice needs to go. He's been now at two coach sacking press conferences... where's the accountability for the suits who run the joint?
Bolton worked with what he had - a very mediocre list in general.

Not a great excuse, I guess, but wasn't helped with key injuries, either (Docherty mostly).

Yeah I agree with this. It seemed a really strange presser to me - LG seemed to be saying that everything is fine, we're sticking with our plan... but also we're sacking our coach for poor performance. I had to laugh when he continually reiterated they were reviewing every position in the club, but immediately refused to reconsider his position. Seemed poor. Bolton just had a very poor list to work with IMO, lots of talent but not enough mature players to actually win games. SOS should be just as responsible, if not more, some of their recruiting has been terrible.

What they gave up for Stocker could haunt them, too.

You know, i'm at a point now where I just scratch my head when I watch NM games.

Tonight's umpiring decisions overall were shocking, once again.

Just got back from the Lions v. Geelong match. I was covering my eyes the last four minutes of the game. The hanger taken by McCarthy was phenomenal and the crowd went absolutely sick when the siren sounded.
