Need folio advice!

Hi, arts board.

My friend needs help.

She's doing 2 folio subjects, studio and theatre and is really struggling this year (year 12) with time management. Problems include losing sleep and struggling to stay on top of her workload. I'm making her a list of things that she can do to get on top of the year, like exercising, studying smart, eating and sleeping well, etc but I'm a maths person and I don't do any folio subjects (totally would have if we had more subject choices, I love art but it isn't my strong area so I went with Maths stuffs). Any advice you guys have for me to give to her would be awesome regarding studying for studio and theatre as well as working on folios.

Thanks heaps arts board!

Don't get stuck on folio with no clear idea of where you're going - plan artworks ahead of time. Know when and how you're going to complete units, otherwise you'll be staying up until 3 am. :P

I found that when I consistently worked on my folio throughout the term I was a lot less stressed than classmates who would do chunks of work then forget about it. Doing a little bit each day can help spread the workload and make it seem way more achievable. It also shows the development of ideas better if the folio is a gradual thing rather than rushed.

Don't start a 70in x 60in painting and expect to only work on it during the day :p I used to stay up really late painting, so many regrets haha

Plan ahead and develop and produce works in a way that is going to be aesthetically pleasing, but not a burden on regular study.
