DT Folio layout question

Hi!
I got feedback back from a few teachers that marked my folio, and one major point that they brought up was the continuity of my folio. The markers pointed out that some of my diagrams and text didn't line up with the margins and that my font sometimes changed from size 12, they also said that doing this would result in a mark deduction.
Is this really true?
A lot  of the folios at the powerhouse museum (the state rankers) didn't necessarily follow strict margins and maintain their text font, also it doesn't really say anywhere on the marking criteria that you need to follow such strict guidelines.
Should I just ignore my teacher's advice? Because moving my margins now would ruin my word document.
Any advice would be great.  :)

Thanks!  :)
