Hey legal eagles that do shelter,

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/boys-drowning-serves-as-tragic-reminder-of-danger-water-poses-to-children-20161010-grylnr.html

This article highlights the ineffectiveness of recent law reforms to the Swimming Pools Act - showing how there is an inadequate level of protection to those both seeking and residing in an establishment

Breaches laws that require certification and fences - highlight need for further reform or regulation of reforms to ensure rights of those seeking shelter are upheld
"had no current registration and had become severely dilapidated since the home was bought in 2007"

Also to those doing shelter, does anyone have detailed notes on the contemporary issues concerning shelter? My class ran out of time and sort of rushed them so I'm kind of lacking in pretty much most of shelter but especially in the contemporary issues

My class was the same!

My notes are a bit all over the shop for shelter (and especially contemporary issues). I struggled a little with social housing however my discrimination and affordability notes are strong.

Not much legislation in there as i've written that aspect out, but i've attached a small doc with a few notes that might help out with some basic info  ;D

These are excellent notes! Thanks so much for sharing them! When the HSC is over, would you be able to upload these in the "notes" tab for the next cohort to download? :)

Definitely! They still need some cleaning up before the hsc but i'll make sure to include the full topic, not just the last part  ;D

Okay it's me again after just under 9 months, here to provide you rare shelter students with a very interesting article here.

This one is super cool - touches on affordability and homelessness with an unconventional solution, tiny houses!
