I'm tossing up my selections,,

So.. I need to pick my Year 11 subjects soon.
At the moment I'm doing HHD 1/2, which I will definitely continue next year.
As for other subjects, I'm thinking;

- english  (COMPULSORY)
- methods
- hhd 3/4
- biology
- psychology

- literature ?

I don't know if they're running a 1/2 Lit class. It seems like there isn't one this year, there might be one next year tho.
I know for a fact there is a 3/4 class. I'm thinking that if they don't run it next year I'll do it in Year 12. (My teacher said I could do that,, what are your thoughts on doing Year 12 Lit without Units 1 and 2?)

(UPDATE; I can't do lit as my sole English subject, they have classes for both year 11 and 12, and I'm leaning more towards Legal than Literature)

- legal ?

(UPDATE; I'm NOW tossing between Lit and Legal, I'm def doing psychology)

Lol gotta love some good course counselling eh

What'd you end up choosing?

I went with Psychology, Methods, Biology, HHD 3/4, and Literature, with Legal as my backup (after borderline harassing my teachers for advice)

This sounds like a great mix of subjects! What are you hoping/planning to do after school?

*** Also forgot to include I'm doing mainstream English (compulsory at our school)

Right now I want to study Law, preferably at Unimelb through the BSc (:
Not definite though haha. I'm open to everything that comes my way

That's really cool, from reading your Journey Journal It seems like you have a really good work ethic. I'm sure you can get into BLaw/BSc if you keep up your awesome work ethic. I'm also considering Law but doing it post-grad (after I hopefully complete Paramed).

Im an SES volunteer and i love the casualty handling/medical side of it as well as the unpredictability. Those things are very similar to what paramedics do and hence why im drawn to paramed.
What is your career aspiration?? Do you want to study law just to become a lawyer or do you want to be a judge etc?

Being a SES volunteer sounds so rewarding  :D
I want to be a lawyer, and possibly work with prosecution and/or public policy.

Wow! That would be a really fulfilling role as well as useful experience for careers in the future. How much of your role involves medical things as a volunteer?

It's a great experience, the involvemnt in medical things varies as it is only required when there is a patient involved (road crash rescue or search and rescue or on the odd time someone needs first aid) so its unpredictable and varies from job to job. We also do patient handling (putting them in stretchers etc) for the paramedics

At the moment I’m doing HHD as my year 11 subject, so I’ve been experimenting with study techniques and different ways to consolidate information and I’m really proud of my marks so far  ;D
Because I’m only in yr10, I’m taking things slow, but I’ve been honing in on *trying* to build a good routine around school, and getting advice from teachers (esp. in english) on how to constantly improve and work on certain areas to build myself up.  ;D
