Cognitive behavioural techniques

wassup fam,

just wanted to ask what are cognitive behavioural techniques-are they basically the same thing as CBT? If not, how do they differ? And pls explain what it is and its aim. An example would be good as well. THXXXXX!!!!!!! xo

The term cognitive behavioural techniques is not in the study design, but I would infer that this term covers cognitive based interventions, behaviourally based interventions, and especially interventions which rely on a combination of both (such as CBT). The aim of these interventions would be to promote a positive state of psychological wellbeing

From memory, I remember when reading through the AtarNotes book for Psychology that it mentioned that Cognitive Behavioural Techniques are derived from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (that's how it defined them, so I'm guessing that we probably don't need to know all too much more about it than that)
