You're always welcome to have my R&S material in Year 12, as long as you keep the altruism going.
A very helpful offer and much appreciated!

IonicDoc- are you continuing R&S?

Update

Yep the psychology exam is in less than 2 days, obviously, it's been the only thing I've been preparing for this last week. I've been so caught up in psych I even forgot about my methods assessment due but I'll get that done soon. ( i hope)

It's getting me really frustrated that I can ace multiple choice and the extended response questions on the psych exam, the short answer section is where I fall. I'm not terrible but I'm not doing so great either. This is where most of the marks lie as well so I better get onto it.

This time of the year is just so busy, just crammed with last-minute assessments and exams. My year 11 exams start on Monday, and I've been completely neglecting them because of psychology. Hopefully, it pays of.

Other than that the weathers been great, has it not? Spring has been great so far (besides the hayfever), although I hope summer doesn't burn me to shreds.

Yep  well that's it folks

Have a good one.

It will pay off!! My mates got 40+ in Bio by completely neglecting their 1/2 subjects. Whilst it may not be smart (maybe), it sounds like you'll do very well in Psych.

This weather isn't already burning you to shreds?

nope, probably because I've locked my self indoors studying for this exam.
although when I take my dog for his daily walks, the heat does get to both of us.
That reminds me that I should probably start putting on sunscreen when I go for walks, I like always forget.  :P

Hey friend,

Hope you've started wearing sunscreen by now - today was 35!!

How'd you go on the exam? Whatever happened, well done for getting there :))

Hey Poet  :D

forgot about the sunscreen (again) but I've made a note on my hand so I should remember next time I go out.

The Exam
- Not really sure how to feel about it. . . multi - choice took way longer than expected and was a tad bit tricky I found, also in some questions more than one option seemed correct. So I'm not 100% sure how I went on that. On previous VCAA exams I was hitting around 46 - 48 on MC so I hope I did the same here.

Short - Answer questions were way more straight forward. There was really only one question I feel i struggled in and that was a research method based question - only worth 2 marks and I'm pretty sure I got 1 of those marks.

Extended - Response: Really general question. I was able to incorporate the relevant theory the question wanted but I had difficulty linking back to the scenario, which may cost me a few marks,

With all that being said, I'm so glad I chose to do a 3/4 this year, it's shown me how important keeping up to date, constantly revising, organisation, reading the study design, etc are. It's also shown me a brief glimpse of year 12 and I'm very grateful for that.

Well I was also meant to go out for lunch with the other year 11's in my psychology class, unfortunately coming out of the exam they all seemed really down and upset, so lunch was cancelled. A shame cause I was really looking forward to pizza!

To be honest, we were all aiming for high marks, so coming out of today's exam left us a bit dazzled.

At least for next year, I'll know that anything can happen in an exam, so I shouldn't get too comfortable.

Well thanks for checking in

See ya  :)

Hi
Welp this is just a short update

- So it's been about a week after my psychology exam and I've already forgotten about it. I've packed up all my psychology books, notes, study guides, etc in a bag, and I'll be handing them onto a friend very soon who is doing psychology next year.

This week has also been full-on, I've been thrown into more year 11 exams which I have not prepared for  (had been studying for psychology last few weeks). I don't even know what I'm doin with myself lol, and my motivation levels are just droppin.

To make things worse I've been binge-watching this new youtube channel I've found

Jubilee - This channel has the best content on youtube and I can't believe I've only found out about them recently, so my procrastination rates have risen, but the content on this channel is GOLD  . You should def check them out if you haven't heard of them before

Oke well that was my short lil update and I better start prepping for my bio exam tomorrow  :'(

Bye

my favourite subject atm is 3/4  psychology . . . I wish I picked up biology from the start of the year but instead chose to do spec for the scaling; I now regret that,  but will switch to biology at the start of 2nd semester.

What's  drawn me so closely to med,
haha I don't really  know ?
I find it intriguing and interesting . . . (always have)  :)
my local doctor also got me motivated,  he gave me quick biology lessons on diseases, bacterias and infections whenever I had  a checkup, as did my. optometrist. When I told her I'm  interested in med she did a crash course with me  and informed me about  parts and functions of the eye. And my dentist even offered me work experience, which I have yet to take up when I find the time.  ;D

and no other career appeals to me right now. . . .  :(
humanity subjects : boring (no offence)
maths: sorta good at it ( don't love it/ don't hate it)
science: ( I'd take a bullet for it)

my parents are proud that im trying for med,  but I already told them that I'm not doing It for them. Im doing it for myself and because it's seems like an  amazing field.

and I hope all my hard work these 2 years pay of ( wish me luck )
This is very random but...
It's so beautiful seeing you describe medicine and your passion for it like that, it was really heart warming to read ❤️

Best if luck I really do hope you get to do it (:

Regarding the psych exam, I found it quite disheartening because I love psych ):. Especially the 10 mark question, like you said it was so open I could've talked about everything but within the time frame I was unable to ): it actually made me so sad thinking about what I could've written down. Did you find previous VCAA psych exams easier?

Thank you !
I'm feeling motivated again.  :D

( always good to have a reminder about why you're doing something)

Yes exactly, every time I think about that 10 marker uhh, so much to talk about but so little time to do so. . . (gets me really frustrated)
Do you know if they give out half - marks on the extended response? Because I made a couple of last-minute dot points but didn't really elaborate on them, so idk if they're worth anything . . .

The MCQ's were definitely harder this year, but I feel as if the short answer and extended response were much easier compared to previous years.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see the examiners report.

December Update

Hello everyone,
The school year is coming to an end in just 2 days for me (FINALLY)
I can't wait for the holidays - a period where I can just sit back and relax ( and also prepare for year 12)

Honestly, this year went so fast and I have a feeling next year will just go quicker.

Step - Up has been really good at school. I'm so happy to say that I have great teachers for all my subjects so that's neat.
I'm especially happy that the texts my school has chosen this year for English are all super interesting enjoyable, English is a subject where I perform better at if I'm actually interested in the texts, so this works out well for me.
Surprisingly our teachers aren't bombarding us with loads of holiday homework. Many of them say that we should use the holidays to just get our energy back because next year is gonna be full-on!

I can't wait for year 12, last year of high school than of to university.

Holiday Plans:
- Of to Gold Coast sometime in January
- A couple of parties to go to
- Catch up on sleep
- Parents are hosting a Christmas Party, which means me and my brother have to entertain a bunch of 14-year-old kids!  (Probably gonna play UNO the entire time)
- Train my doggo some new tricks

Ok next update will probably be December 12th, later in the evening, after I've binge-watched all the ATAR reaction vids lol

Hope you've started wearing sunscreen by now - today was 35!!

Edit: I have also started to wear sunscreen consistently, I'm brown so i don't get sunburnt which also means i don't remember to put on sunscreen, whereas a couple of my friends will literally have skin falling off them if they don't use sunscreen ( rip)

See you soon

Haha, I'll try to have fun with them, I only see these kids like 4 times a year and every time we meet it's super awkward for the first hour but by the time the night ends we always end up having a good time.

And

Yes, I love Queensland beaches! Way better than Victorian beaches . . .
It's not Gold Coast without the beaches  (literally)  :D

Hey everyone,
First of Congrats to the class of 2019, no matter what you got, 13 years of school done and dusted (except most of you are now gonna be off to uni soo still some school left. . .?)
Also congrats to any yr 11 or 10's or 9's who got their 3/4 results today. Hopefully, your hard work paid off, and if unsatisfied with your result, dont worry to much cause you still got next year.

anyways

I got my psychology results today at 6.48 am.
A bit earlier than expected and it was also in the promotional section of Gmail so lucky I spotted it.
Definitely not the score I was hoping for earlier in the year but can't really do much about that except work harder in my subjects next year.

For those interested I got;
B+, A , A      ---->       36

the A in the exam is a huge surprise cause I thought I stuffed that up.
I also thought I would at least get an A+ for Unit 3 or 4 but turns out I was wrong.

Anyways moving on, doing a 3/4 has taught me some essential skills that will be of great use next year and I'm looking at this scenario as a learning opportunity, rather than getting upset or anything like that.
I know what I have to improve on next year and i will improve on my weaknesses.

Aight this was a very short update. Now I'm gonna go watch some ATAR - reaction vids.

Bye
