Commerce/business degrees at Deakin/RMIT vs Commerce at a Go8 University

what is the difference besides subject pre reqs and atar requirements? Do employers favour someone who does a similar degree in a Go8 uni than someone at other unis or is it all about marks? Also, i'm looking for going to RMIT or deakin then hopefully transferring mid year, i wanna know if ATAR's are only taken into consideration for pre reqs and other criterias include GPA. Thank you!

RMIT has EXCELLENT teaching in business. Whilst there may be a small amount of bias towards Melbourne and Monash degrees, if you go to a non-Go8 uni and get stellar marks, you'll be fine.

My cousin is also an accounting student but he studies at RMIT, and I (from Melb Uni) can say that accounting education at RMIT is really good. Lots of good accounting subjects, and really focused on giving students a practical accounting education. As opposed to Melbourne Uni, where it's more theoretical. I would really have loved to enrol in RMIT's Professional Accountancy program.

You'll be fine as long as your extra-curricular stuff is pretty impressive, and you maintain good marks. It really depends on where you want to work. With a commerce degree it's often not just marks which will define whether you get a job or not, you'll have to distinguish yourself from others with your personal qualities.
