Whilst it is important to have a solid understanding of key knowledge points in the study design, this is nowhere near enough when it comes to exam preparation and differentiating yourself from the remaining 60,000 VCE students. You must apply a higher order level of thinking and problem solving skills. These skills, which are simply not taught in most schools, will be covered in each of our lessons and will prepare you not only for VCE but also later on in University.
What I’ve noticed from most VCE students:
One of the BIGGEST MISTAKES I noticed with students undertaking mathematics is the misguided belief in simply memorising the formula to guide them through the exam. However, in order to achieve the higher marks in VCE it is absolutely crucial to understand the formula and its calculation so that it can be derived should you forget it under the pressure of the exam (however given the amount of practice you should be doing, this should not be happening in the first place!!!). As such, my lessons will be centred around understanding the key concepts in order to build a solid foundation that can be applied to the harder exam problems in the future.
