Shout out to literally Lauren for all of her work that she does on the forum community
Shout out and appreciation to all the mods that have helped me. In particular, Jake, Jamon, Elyse, Brendan, Heidiii and Naomi. You guys are awesome and the reason atarnotes is what it is today!!Shout out to RuiAce who spends countless hours helping HSC students. As one of the most active and consistent helpers, his effort should be rewarded and not go unnoticed. Keep up the great work!

Good thread.Nice try buddy, but we can all see through your facade. "Alter" is clearly an alt of yours and you're making this post in an attempt to boost yourself up. Look--it's so obvious it even says it in the name: Alter. Could you get any less creative?
I tip my hat to Alter for a pretty great body of work over the last year or so. Particularly helpful on the uni and general VCE boards.
Keep being super.

Please drop the charade. You're not fooling anyone.

But to some slightly less known names, studybuddy7777 and diiiiiii, answering heaps of questions and just being generally awesome around the NSW Threads, keep it up guys ;DThanks Jamon :D nice to see all my hard work is not going unnoticed 8)
Alter? Who is Alter? My name is Joseph41.I rate the Simpsons references very highly nonetheless. I suppose I'll have to believe you for now :(
EDIT: Clearly I'm struggling to attach a GIF from my phone. I need Lauren to teach me her ways. But you get the point.
Much obliged to the awesome FallingStar and AngeRay for giving stellar and angelic essay feedback, respectively. I've neglected the submissions board for a while and was dreading going back to what I assumed would be an onslaught of abandoned pieces, only to find these two had covered almost everything themselves.
Tell me this wasnt supposed to be a pun ;D (AngeRay giving angelic feedback)
Sorry if i all just made you groan but i had to point it out ;) :-X
Lauren = LaurenOr does she?
Shout out to RuiAce for hitting the big 1-0-0-0 posts! :D
Kudos to Joseph41 for his work in this thread, some really solid tips :) How to study/ when to study for the end of year exam?Is this Joseph41 or Alter we are supposed to be giving the shout out/appreciation to ;D
Shout out to zsteve who gave his first lecture which I hear was brilliant :)Just to emphasise this, zsteve did a brilliant job!

Just want to give a huge shout out to ssarahj as the first genuinely active and helpful contributor outside of our original crew to be straight savage level of helpfulness across English and humanities. Elyse tells me every week that you've done another amazing thing. Thanks for joining the crew <3
This may be my favourite thread on the forums. How good is Jake, right MM?!Thank you all for everything you've done for AN no matter how small because just a few days ago our traffic record was 1,200 people online at once, and now, it's 4200 - a 350% increase.
I'm flagging the especially prolific contributors, but there have been hundreds of notes uploaded in the aftermath of the VCE and HSC exams, so for all you 2016 grads, I would highly encourage you to consider adding yours to our collection. And for all you 2017 students out there, get reading because there is an absolute cornucopia of knowledge at your fingertips here ;D
MASSIVE ROUND OF APPLAUSE TO:
suddods for HSC Modern History, History Extension, and English Adv.
bethjomay for HSC Physics, Ancient History, and English Adv
ssarahj for HSC SOR, English Adv and VET Hospitality
HappyPhysicsLand for HSC Engineering Studies, SOR, and English Adv.
CaptainEmma88 for VCE Legal Studies, HHD, and Business Management
insanipi for VCE Chemistry and Psychology
isaacdelatorre for HSC English Adv.
Coffee for VCE Philosophy
I've been greenlighting stuff uploaded to the Notes section this morning, and it's always a genuine privilege; partly because I learn so much by reading through all these things, and partly because it's awesome to see people contributing to some of the more under-resourced subjects, but mainly because it is freaking unbelievable to see the pages and pages of detailed dedication that students like you guys pour into your notes. And the fact that you upload them for the benefit of future students is inspiring and wonderful and sugar and spice and all things nice.

(sort of)
It comes to my attention that Heidi's respect has just ticked over to +500, confirming her status as a true legend of the ATAR Notes forums. I don't think there would be a single poster who would disagree with me when I say that Heidi's influence around here has been astronomical, and I'd personally like to thank her for all of her contributions since joining the forums in December 2014 (can you believe how recent that is?!). :D
This also means that Heidi is extremely close to becoming one of the top 10 posters ever in ATAR Notes history in terms of respect, as seen below:(http://i.imgur.com/gZl3AP0.png)
You might notice some familiar names there. Along with Heidi, Brenden (+1401 :o) and Lauren (+890 :o) are without a shadow of doubt two of the very, very greatest people I've ever had the fortune of meeting. I couldn't even start to imagine the number of hours that these three have invested in these forums over the last however many years, and this feels an appropriate thread to voice that enthusiasm and gratitude. :)
AN4eva etc. ♥
It'll be weird to eventually see enwiabe and taiga fall out of the top 10, from all those years back. The friends and connections you make on here seem to last for years down the track. I always seem to find someone who was on here or know of people from here every time I meet a new group of people, you just can't seem to get away from here.It will be very, very weird.
From an oldie who still can't seem to shake the connections from this place :P
Showing some very overdue appreciation for Shadowxo for their excellent contributions pretty much everywhere, even outside of vic. Absolutely killer, super great posts all over the place :-*I agree, shadowxo is super helpful! ;)

This response from AngelWings deserves +1s based on effort alone. Incredible. :DAww... thank you so much, Joseph41~! Happy to help a person in need.
Absolutely phenomenal work, Shadowxo. Some people like Shadowxo just don't get enough credit. Honestly one of many of the unsung heroes of AN.
Aww thanks ;D Glad to help! You're a true champion :)
Also, I'm surprised you linked all those posts :P
Aww... thank you so much, Joseph41~! Happy to help a person in need.
Another shoutout, this time for EEEEEEP, who just came out with three amazing threads. Pretty much covers everything you could need for VCE, even latin! Definitely worth some recognition given that I can't even comprehend how much time and effort into it. ;D
On which note, I think we should give a belated shout-out to Joseph for his +400! Over the years since 2012 he's steadily contributed to AN and it's only getting better ;D ;D ;D
A big ol' shoutout to our very own MightyBeh and insanipi, who now have ATAR Notes-published articles! Will definitely check it out :)How to Beat Procrastination by insanipi

So good! ;D
Good time for a poorly made meme?? ::)What's the meme supposed to mean
(http://i.imgur.com/CB0Pzrh.gif)
I'm like 10% sorry
What's the meme supposed to mean
Its based off a question from the 2015 Further maths exam that supposedly screwed everyone over lmaoOh, I remember the 50 cent question, it showed up in the newspaper, and it was a multiple choice question
theres even an article on it:

I hope you understand this is a shoutouts/appreciation thread... not one for discussing a VCAA exam question, right?Sorry Aaron, My bad
Please keep on topic and find the right thread to discuss :) I will be deleting posts that do not fit the thread's purpose in future.
A huge shout-out to evandowsett, whose 23 posts (so far) are ALL super valuable - either excellent guides (like this, this and this) or answering questions about Methods. It's just *so* in line with ATARNotes' spirit of generously delivering value because... you can!
Thanks Evan!
Thank you very much for your public acknowledgement of the effort I've put in, Heidi! I've tried to provide as much value as possible when responding to any threads, so I'm glad that people have found it so useful. I'll continue to contribute as much as I can when I get the chance :)
Evan
Just gotta give a shout out to sudodds who has been just so amazingly helpful around the HSC English and History forums as of late! Really, sudodds should be a meme - "Could you elaborate?" Writes an essay.
why thank you! (if you need me to elaborate on this let me know ;))
Could you please elaborate?
A very appreciative shoutout to Syndicate, for the awesome work in the VCE Chem board (and more) recently. ;D
Just a not so subtle shout out to literallylauren who has just (yesterday maybe?) ticked over to +900 Respect. Even more impressive is that this is only with about 1500 posts, meaning Lauren has what is probably the best Respect to Post Count ratio on the site right now ;D

I'd like to give a shout out to evandowsett. Your most recent post is truly amazing and has made me reconsider the way I approach SAC's and exams.
I love your work on this site- you're inspiring many! :)
Shoutout to AngelWings for this amazing guide. Not only this, she had been helping around other boards too! (ie. further maths and English language etc...) :)
Shoutout to Quantum44 for being the most amazing person ever and for the bio guide. <3

Aaron has just hit +100 respect! Yesssss this is so deserved. ;D Aaron does heaps of forum work behind the scenes, which is super appreciated - and he's been a great contributor for 5+ years! :)
In other news, Brenden has made his 6000th post on ATAR Notes! Monumentally impressive ;DThis would be a nice milestone if it weren't for the fact that you and Rui are going to fkn decimate it about 3 years earlier than I did.

Thanks so much J41!ATTENTION:

I think we can all agree that Rui has been an absolutely mammoth part of ATAR Notes NSW (and ATAR Notes more broadly). Almost 4,000 posts - all of them helpful - in only just over a year is absolutely absurd.
Well done, Rui. :)
This would be a nice milestone if it weren't for the fact that you and Rui are going to fkn decimate it about 3 years earlier than I did.My post count rate has gone heaps lower compared to Jamon's though haha
Sick.

Can't miss the chance to give Nick (Joseph41) a huge shoutout for hitting +500 respect! ;D ;D ;D
Nick's helpful presence has been constant since 2012, but 2017 has really uncovered his genius as he's moved to admin capacity and just become a totally badass poster, even THOUGH he loves cats and coffee. ;)
Thanks on behalf of everyone for your constant support and dedication to ATARNotes, punk.
hey hey! Would just like to quickly give a shout out to Maraos for being the first brave soul to give the (severely neglected) history extension debate thread a go! Always difficult offering up your opinion, particularly your opinion on something as tricky as historical and historiographical objectivity!! Hopefully your awesome response will encourage other students to give it a go ;DHaha ;D Thanks so much!

A good ol' shoutout to Joseph41 for this thread! ;D
A simply massive shoutout to Jamon for making 5,000 of the most helpful, balanced and important posts in the history of ATAR Notes.Downright ridiculous.
His impact seriously can't be overstated.
Shout-out to everyone for managing a feminism debate without any hate or attacks. Historically, debates on AN (and the internet in general) have ended up out of control; here, everyone is acknowledging everyone else's viewpoints and not attacking personally.
Excellento! ;D
Pretty sure this has only happened quite recently, congratulations to HopefulLawStudent for 100 Respect! No surprise, HLS is undoubtedly the coolest person ever for a lot of VCE English Students right now - If you aren't involved in AA Club, then you are missing out! :)It's been a while... a week maybe?

Shout out to insanipi for reaching 100+ respect on atar notes. Including 2500+ posts (when forum games/chat are counted) in 18 months.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170526/6357327878eb20ab8c747fc2dbaa1f2f.jpg)
Has anyone done a shout out to MisterNeo? If not, they deserve one. They've been on fire recently. Check out the Chemistry boards in both NSW and VIC and you'll get what I mean, although they've also extended their reaches to Maths, English, Legal Studies and various other boards - all in 60 or so posts!
Shout out to Wales for hitting 100 posts! Wales has been around in NSW for just over 6 months and has been an awesome presence, dishing out a heap of help. Don't think they've ever stopped in to ask a question/with an essay for marking without helping out somewhere themselves. Love your work my friend ;D
There are others in NSW who also have a heap of posts, I'll do a better job of noticing your milestones from this point forward ;D
shout out to zhen for being a beast on the forums this whole year!

Well done Wales :) Glad we continue to get talented students on here helping each other out.

Also a shoutout to Sirius, whose first ~ten posts have been extremely helpful. ;DThanks so much!! :) Happy to help and give back to the community as I have been lurking around since december and getting help myself. ;)
HUGE shout out to elysepopplewell for hitting 2000 posts on ATAR Notes this evening!! ;D
I didn't even realise :')
Want to publicly thank Wales for the contribution he has brought to AN this year - but especially recently. You've really taken the AN spirit in your stride, always giving, learning, and teaching in a way that's friendly and helpful. You're the best Wales!
A little late, but Brenden passed +1500 respect the other day.Noiiiice.
This is simply a gargantuan effort over more than half a decade of quality posting. He's just the second member of ATAR Notes to reach that milestone - and, going off current trends, nobody else will reach that figure for a fair while.
Shout out to the mods for taking the time to mark essays. Hope to submit mine soon!I second this... how good are J.J.E? (and S)

Jake or Jamon need to change their name to a K name, so that along with Rui we can have the JERKS. Someone change Jake to KajeLisove and we got it rolling!

Shout out to DalvinT for hitting the 100 post milestone (and additionally for spreading the word of AN) ;)Love this guy
Yayyyyyy strawberries for her reviews of ANU subjects! We only rarely get reviews for unis other than Melbourne/Monash so seeing somewhere different is awesome ;Dheids you're too awesome :-*

A call to everyone reading this to upvote these three posts of RuiAce's. Ultimately respect levels don't "matter" but Rui has posted fkn 4000+ times and is consistently helpful, and because he posts subject help he doesn't get upvoted nearly as much as he deserves to. Let's randomly gift him some much-deserved respect in appreciation! ;D

Shoutout to MisterNeo; with exams, I've been a little lax around the Chem forums recently, and MisterNeo has stepped in to answer a ridiculous number of questions comprehensively. I can tell you FOR SURE that you have made my life like 18-24% less stressful in the past few days. Seriously appreciate your work buddy :)
Haha thank you ;D
It's really helpful for me too when helping others!

Heya AN, I'm in a gushy mood so get ready.
I've lived in Venice this semester and it's been ~incredible~. I've LOVED my time abroad - so much so that I'm an hour out of Venice now en route to Sydney, and I faced timed a friend in a social square I hung out in a lot in Venice, and I cried just seeing the pavement. Just contextualising the gushiness.
I've been really thankful for AN. Upon first arrival in Europe, I was ridiculously jetlagged and was able to find refuge at odd times of the European night on the forums here. I was rarely lonely, but whenever I did get a pang of wanting company from home, I could always find it online here. It's been very convenient for me to touch base here and do what I love: talking, being online, and helping.
Particular shout out to Jamon who's been able to pick up extra marking when things have been sporadic for me (*especially the last few days*).
So I still feel like I've not said what I want to say...but thanks AN for always being around for me. Weirdly, thissitecommunity has played a really important role in my exchange. Thanks for being uniquely you, ATAR Notes community. I can't wait to tell you all about what I've been up to in more detail.
Shout out to kiiaaa for reaching 100 posts!! Your always positive attitude is such a joy to have as part of the community - Keen for the next 100! ;DYAY! The first 100 is the most important! :)
And on the same night (or, well, morning, lol), chelseam has hit 100 posts as well! Congratulations ;DThanks for being such a great and supportive community and thank you to anyone who's ever helped me out! You're all legends ;D <3 <3

I nearly forgot about this, but shout out to patriciarose who has been helping out heaps around the forums in the past month. She was picking up my slack in the selective school admissions tests section by marking heaps of selective school entrance exam essays when I was busy with SAC week. ;DGreat shout out, patricia has been an awesome presence over the past month or two!

Just wanted to let you know (although you probably already do!) that yesterday lectures were AMAZING!!!! (pretty sure all your lectures were amazing, but I only attended 2) Way to go Tim Howe and Karly Banks!!!!!!! Great and insightful Unit 4 head starts!! :) :)
Rui's hit a fresh 1500 posts THIS year!Gonna be 1000 for you soon Elyse! You can do it!

Yep - definitely enjoy reading each and every one of patriciarose's posts.
Great quality.
Shout out to Opengangs, long time lurker, posted for the first time less than 24 hours ago and virtually every post since then has been insane levels of helpful - Welcome to the community my friend ;DThank you!!
Aaron has just hit +200 respect! Raise the roof! 🙌 🙌 🙌
Congrats to Calebantz (formerly known as Calebark and ) for reaching +100 respect ;D
Ooh, thank you, I didn't even notice! Happy to reach triple digits. I am closer to my lifelong goal of reaching respect in the decuple digits! :P
Shout out to the whatever magical force that changed my name to Calebantz. Now, I get that it's meant to be Calebantz, but I think this is a great time to advertise one of my favourite childhood movies, so I hope you can all view me as Calebantz instead.
Shoutout to Rui for doing such an awesome 4U lecture. Especially for his first one!
Loved it :)
Wtf didn't know there was a 4u lecture gg.....
MisterNeo has cracked 100+ respect!! ;D
I definitely want to thank everyone on this site so far !!! I went to my first ATARNotes lecture yesterday (English Advanced w/ Emily!) and it was amazing!! I couldn't believe all the time that went by until she was ending her presentation. I picked up so many good tips and actually went home and started fixing up my English notes right away, so thank you to Emily for giving me that extra kick of motivation!!
I made an account on ATARNotes and spent hours browsing through all the forums instead of studying (whoops!) but I was able to pick up on so many tips and advice for all my subjects so I really want to thank all the moderators who are helping us out!! I honestly can't believe that you guys are contributing some of your time to helping us HSC students out, especially since you're in university already and probably have your own study workload. I think I can speak for everyone on this site when we say we're really grateful! I've only been on the site for a couple of days and I already feel like I fit in the community (: Thank you!!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Like bimberfairy I signed up yesterday after going to a lecture, but I went to Susie's Modern History lecture. Huge shout out for that, it was super helpful and the memes were delightfully relatable ;DThank you so much for the kind words :) Super glad you found everything helpful!
Welcome to our bio lecturer Maddie! Shout out for jumping on the forums after the lectures to help out! :)

Just came here to post this.
I came here to give shoutouts and steal your upvotes.
And I'm all out of shoutouts
By posting this, you reap twice the amount of upvotes you were planning to steal! Genius!
I demand that you supply some +1's 8)Your puns are getting cliche :(

shoutout to rui for attempting to work on his banter game :) you'll get there one day buddy! Practice makes perfect ;DBanter is generally regarded as public good as one's reception of it does not impede another's, and the supplier cannot reject other parties seeking extra benefit from it. However, to varying extents one may view it as a club good as the non-excludable assumption can be violated depending on how it is defined. One possible way this can occur is the selection of whom to inflict banter upon, and completely rejecting the existence of another party.

One possible way this can occur is the selection of whom to inflict banter upon, and completely rejecting the existence of another party.awesome work rui :) You really are learning fast! You'll be a orange belt banterer in no time :) In terms of suggestions, I feel like this response could have used maybe a few more puns, and maybe a ross gittens meme, but as I said before - solid effort!
Banter is also subject to generating both positive and negative externalities. Depending on the level of offensiveness implied in the banter, another may attain negative benefit, but if the implied humour is effective, it probably allows others to laugh as well, which can be reflected through upvotes and haha reacts especially on social media.
The market for banter is perhaps, more accurately considered an oligopoly as there are various suppliers, but fails to be perfect competition as at any given point, one's supply can dominate over the other and vice versa. It may be worth noting that cartelisation is uncommon as people are very much capable of producing their banter.
And that, my friends, is how to economics.

Side note: My serious shout-out post is probably coming soon. It's basically been put off for 9 months by other stuff.
I feel this thread is purely used to get more +1s
Don't mind me
Give me your +1s
Also shoutout to MisterNeo (another one) for stealing all my maths questions especially in the methods thread. ;)
Congrats on your respect :D
Massive shoutout to dancing phalanges, mixel and rodero, whose recent contributions to the Modern History board have been absolutely stellar :) I feel completely useless, and I'm A-okay with that! Loving the amount of students helping each other out and working together :)
And on top of that, huge shoutout to katie, rinos as well! Whose been really making the effort in the history extension thread, contributing some fantastic ideas and answers in the process!
Love you history fam. Never change <3
Ahah thanks Susie ! I'm sure we're both enjoying the huge increase in people on the modern history thread - and every subject for that matter :) The community is becoming a lot more involved, and i'm loving it ! :D
A special (second) shout out to dancing phalanges for both a great username and for offering advice on the AOS creative writing forums which I've woefully neglected for the last week. Love your work!
Shoutout to Calebark for this amazing post about pick the middle questions in the UMAT. Not only did the post include a full length explanation but a UMAT-style question created by none other than Calebark. Most impressive!
Shoutout to K888 for giving Sudodds a shoutout for her 1000th post :)Admittedly this would have worked better if I was diligent and posted first, but we'll take what we can get.
A huge shoutout to sudodds for her 1000th post ;D

A huge shoutout to sudodds for her 1000th post ;Dnawww thank you <3 Actually love this community so much - pretty much been exactly a year since I started using the forum, and I had absolutely no idea how much it would impact my life - especially beyond HSC. The crazy fun opportunities i've been given, the significant increase in my banter abilities (gotta keep up with K8M8 and the turtle), and most importantly, the amazing group of friends I've made (both on and offline) ;D Honestly can't thank this community enough :)

Little things matter. Forget the upvotes; chelseam deserves a special one for being the one user to identify themselves to me during the lecture series!Rui you're an absolute legend! Your brilliant explanations and dedication to help out are literally why I can understand any of the content in maths (and I'm sure that others will agree)! And your lecture was so helpful you smashed it! ;D
Shoutout to Thushan for writing the Chemistry 1 & 2 Course Notes. Been using it for about two weeks now; I find it much more straightforward as opposed to the Heinemann textbook. (Best $25 I've ever spent)
Mini-shoutout to Joseph41 for hooking me up. ;)
Shout out to Jamon for 6000 posts! That number looks daunting from where I am at haha. :)
Also, exactly 6000 posts is very satisfying, I'll be sad when it goes to 6001
On the previous forum it was just EEEEEP supporting me. Was really happy when he came here, especially since he just unleashed a whole bunch of articles everywhere.P.S. You do tons more with the amount of work in the physics and maths threads.
Calebark has hit +200 respect!! Absolute unit. 8)
HUGE CONGRATS TO K888 for reaching 500 posts!!! ;DCheers Jamon! :D
Cheers Jamon! :D
Absolutely love being around this community. Hoping I have many more posts to come here :)
Just had a scroll back through my posting history - I've made half of my posts in the past month, and took over a year to get the other 250 :P

I've also noticed a tonne of those super helpful posts akin to a small essay lately, so double-shoutout for all the high quality posts lately!Does this mean you think my previous posts weren't high quality? :P
You fell in love like you fall asleep. Slowly - then all at once.Anything but the TFIOS reference, please
Please pile the upvotes on another awesome guide written by isaacdelatorre ;DOmg this is incredible.
This is potentially the third time that dancing phalanges has had a shout out, but you absolutely deserve it. It's really easy to use this forum to ask questions, learn some stuff, and move on with your life. Receiving a simple 'thank you' from a user makes such a difference to those who mark questions. Sometimes, we'll get a PM that just makes our day. But to see users like phalanges take 800 words to help a student out with their Modern History essay is genuinely like nothing else. We talk a lot about growing this community, about the feel of the forums, about the vibe of the place. But, at the end of the day, that growth, and that culture, comes down to individual users being just utterly fantastic. Thank you to all users taking the time to answer questions. The HSC forums have felt very organic in recent weeks. We're so excited to see it foster many more users like phalanges.
^Zero arguments.Seconded 🙌
Basically anything of worth I've ever contributed to this forum can be traced to Heidi's influence.
Seconded 🙌
Heidi is the reason I stuck around here, and legitimately one of the main reasons I even made it through year 12 full stop.
Legitimately just one of the most genuinely amazing human beings out there <3
thirded? lolIs there such a thing as fourthed?
Heidi is awesome she helped me so much in Year 12
Just a shout out to Heidi. This whole thread was her idea, as was this entire board, as were some other major changes.
Both behind and in front of the scenes Heidi is a huge part of this forum - y'all should be very glad she's around - her counsel's made a very, very big difference.
It occurred to me just now after thinking how good this thread is - all Heidi's.

Quite literally don't know what'd I do without Heidi, she's been phenomenal and other really awe-inspiring words for at least over a year now. 11/10 friend, and a deserving one at that! ;D
Is there such a thing as fourthed?
Heids makes beautiful turtle art, and I think that is all that needs to be said on the topic :)Oh, that's a turtle?
<--- An example of one of her more modern pieces
Oh, that's a turtle?
It's a tortoise. >:D
Calebark just hit 500 posts.Yeah absolutely great effort! As well as helping others out, he's just a great bloke and just funny. :)
+247 respect from 500 posts is utterly absurd. Potentially best ratio ever across 500 posts. Amazing.

RESPECT when will you adopt our language oh BoS knave >:(
But srs, so much love for how insanipi has made this forum so much more alive, chill and social through her constant games vigilance (and chem and physics news, too, but that's hardly livening the place up ;))
Well deserved insanipi :D You're a constant cheery presence around the forums (even if your puns could do with a little work ;))
Definitely echoing this! Not only did she almost single-handedly resurrect the games threads (showing that moderation is clearly no game ;) ), but she's also the person who got me into actively posting on AN (which is funny because I first showed Insanipi AN. It's a give-and-take friendship). I'm sure her presence is the reason for a lot of people contributing so much too!I'd write a comment for each of these lovely people, but then I'd run the risk of getting soppy, so thank you guys
Huge shout out (I might have done one already? If so here's another...) to fantasticbeasts3 for being so incredibly helpful around the forums. Taking the time to give feedback on peoples responses, answering questions, general good vibes - This community is so lucky to have you in it ;D
Shout out to dancing phalanges for their 100th post!! Yet another fantastic member of the community who has been nothing but inspiring and helpful to absolutely everyone. Thanks so much for being around ;D
A very big congratulations to Shadowxo for +100 respect. Thanks! I'm honoured to be a part of this amazing community :D <3

Aren't you a little bit sus you've never seen us in the same room though?
Shoutout to peterpiper for breaking a record of 30+ respects!!
Haha this is too much guys ;). I think you might be exaggerating just a tad there about the record part, but I must admit, it is a pretty big deal for me. I'm so flattered. I think I'll take this very warm reception and feel myself right at home. Thank you thank you y'all are so sweet for noticing
You're most welcome!
(It's actually funny you used my name for the quote because if you go to page 13, you'll see that I actually gave myself a shoutout for +30 respect haha ;D )
Wait.
Have you received +250 in, like, a month?!
Wait.He saw that I was ahead of him and started hoarding respect with his poor banter.

That insane increase in respect is purely from pity upvotes

Massive shout out to sudodds for an incredible Q+A session, she has answered questions for over 50 people (and that's a conservative estimate) - Take a read of her incredibly insightful answers and be generous with the upvotes! :)Just following in your footsteps from only a day earlier ;) (also grats on the 500+ respect, because that's clearly a completely normal, achievable number).
And to follow that, sudodds has hit +300 respect. Amazing effort - well deserved! :))Go on, Sudodds. Say something funny about this. Live up to the hype. I dare you.

Cheers Calejoke! Just trying my best to help out others while I gain some knowledge myself. :DI see you often at the JMSS thread, thinking you applied for JMSS. It's great to see someone helping out some curious Year 9's. Makes me wish I was on ATAR Notes a year ago. Long deserved shoutout from our great turtle overlord.

Shout out to 13cheungjn1 who has been giving some amazingly helpful answers the last few weeks! Handwritten answers, detailed solutions and advice, all awesome ;D thanks so much for being around!
Shout out to our two new HSC mods, kiwiberry and MisterNeo who have both done an amazing job answering questions in their section during the Trial rush, even though they are in the thick of some serious study themselves. Truly incredible individuals, so glad to have you on board ;D

i feel like I only really use this thread to boast about how amazing the HSC history fam is...Haha thanks Susie for the shoutout! ;D ;D
but just check out how AMAZING the HSC history fam is. History extension is one of the hardest subjects going, and is one of the hardest subjects to get help for given how small the cohort is... is something I would have said before katie, rinos, Maraos and mitchello all smashed it out of the park - each providing a super detailed, unique and thorough response to a question posted only a few hours ago. Getting three amazing, unique answers to one question is unprecedented in most sections of the forum - let alone history extension. Well done guys!! Love you all (and good luck if you're doing the trial on Monday!!!) <3
i feel like I only really use this thread to boast about how amazing the HSC history fam is...Thanks so much Susie! Really happy to try and help out-I know how hard a subject this is! This is actually really helping me with my knowledge-like we were in class last week and I instinctively went to answer one of my friends questions (and I don't normally talk a lot in class). We were doing revision stuff last week and I found that I knew heaps more then I thought :D. My trials start on Monday and I have nine exams so it's pretty stressful but I love how this community is able to answer any questions that I have. :)

Always a thoughtful, comprehensive response, especially in the debating thread for extension (supported by the fact that I haven't even finished reading it yet lol)

Haha thanks Susie for the shoutout! ;D ;DThis makes me feel so warm and fuzzy. You're an absolute legend man - and you've definitely hit the nail on the head there! It is one of the best ways to study (particularly skills revising) - exactly what I realised around this time last year with Modern History. Answering questions (trying my best to get in there before jake 8)) was such a good study method - a great way to break up the monotony of constant past papers, and solidify structure and skills in my head. Like if I could explain the purpose of a 'reliability test' in a source analysis, then I was never going to forget to include one! Of course such a bonus that you are able to help out so many other students in the process, and let me tell ya, your answer is going to help out so so so many, particularly around Trials!!
Honestly the ATAR notes community in general (including yourself and the other moderators) has encouraged me personally to engage with other student's questions. This not only helps the student struggling with the question but I also see it as an opportunity to further develop my own understanding, like they say if you can teach it then you know it haha :D
Thanks so much Susie! Really happy to try and help out-I know how hard a subject this is! So glad that you are feeling more confident in class, because you definitely should be! Your answers are always absolutely fab (for anyone who isn't a regular on the history extension thread - Katie is pretty much a veteran question answers on there by now ;)). I know you are going to smash all of those exams, particularly that ancient and extension exam 8)
Aayyy, shout out to you too for engaging with pretty much every thread I visit (history <3). Which is making me so happy - all of your posts make me smile :) I'm so glad that I could be helpful, and particularly glad that you are enjoying the debate thread (a few arguments I've got to get to over this weekend!) - sosososo pleased that that thread is finally taking off <3
Shoutout to my sister for finally biting the bullet and making an AN account even though she doesn't do VCE or HSC, but is on struggle street with Chemistry for her IB so she's come looking for help :)She's looking in the right place!

literally lauren has hit +1,000 respect
... from ~1,500 posts, which is fucking absurd.
I don't think much more needs to be said for Lauren's contributions to ATAR Notes - but this milestone needed to be noted.
On behalf of literally thousands of English students (and the wider AN community), Lauren, thank you!
Slightly belated congratulations to Joseph41 for reaching +1000 respect ;DI. CON. CUR.
Legitimately one of the most helpful and kind people out there, and he doesn't get enough appreciation for how truly amazing he is.
Lmao WHAT I have been preparing for that +1000 shoutout for both Lauren and Nick for ages, and a few hours ago they were both in the 980s. Fuck.
Shout out to Calebark for 500 respect!!Thanks, katie, rinos! Shoutout to katie, rinos for being rad :P

I'm a bit hard of hearing -- I didn't catch the bit about how great my banter is. Maybe it needs to be said a bit louder for the people in the back?
Shoutout to Brenden for an amazing AMA session yesterday 8) So helpfulTotally missed this. Tysm prickles! Glad you got something out of it :) :)

Shout out to katie, rinos for reaching 100 Respect! Monumental effort, incredibly well deserved ;DThanks Jamon! :) Find it funny how when I first started, I thought it would be really difficult to post and believed that I wouldn't really post a lot (that's really not the case now).
Encourage everyone to check out her blog, as well as others, in the HSC Journey Journal ;)

Shout out to Opengangs for this amazing Biology guide!!!Is it just like awesome-super-helpful-really-long-and-detailed-post day or something? Like did I miss the memo? All these guides coming out are freaking incredible - and like even more so when you consider that they are all being written by students still currently studying the HSC, meaning that they took the time out of their own busy study schedule to help others out (right after trials as well like how are you not all exhausted?!?!!).

Look forward to future posts! ;)
Haha I was 15 minutes too late </3
Is it just like awesome-super-helpful-really-long-and-detailed-post day or something? Like did I miss the memo? All these guides coming out are freaking incredible - and like even more so when you consider that they are all being written by students still currently studying the HSC, meaning that they took the time out of their own busy study schedule to help others out (right after trials as well like how are you not all exhausted?!?!!).
So good ;D Just. SO GOOD.
Shoutout to Shadestache for This Post Here.
It may be a short one, but it's always nice to see people helping out others and encouraging them. Just a little post that I think deserves some appreciation :)
Last shoutout of the day (considering there's 4 minutes left!):I see you've finally come to your senses about this! ;)
Shoutout to K888 for +400 respect, which is exactly half of her post count! So satisfying to see. Please never change your post/respect count from now on. A very well-deserved achievement, given her constant motivational essays, physio answers, and top-notch banter!
I also felt really uncomfortable writing this as I knew it would take me over the 800 mark. Some sacrifices must be made </3

Love the contributions to AN ;D

Thank youu!!
The amount of time I spend on here is unreal :') Honestly, the reason why I joined this site was the free notes >.< After attending the July lectures, I started coming onto the forums to ask questions. This progressed into "hey! I can answer that question!" and it all spiralled from there
Seriously though, being more active on this site has pretty much been the best decision I've made this year. I've cheered up quite a bit and made some friends along the way I look forward to meeting y'all (might be coming to Melbourne in Dec so this applies to the VIC crew as well!)
you AN
Thank youu!!We definitely need to organise an AN Australia-wide meetup (in Melbourne, of course, where else? ;) )

Calebark has cracked the top 10 most respected users of all time. And what a very well-deserved +30 shoutout it was :P How long have you been waiting for the respect to tick over to Top 10 so you could give this?
This is crazy. Even crazier when you think that about 3 months ago, he was giving himself a shoutout for +30 respect in this thread.

A true magician like Jess will never tell us her ultimate trick of maintaining a great respect-post ratio 8)?I didn't think actual posts to the game chats counted towards you post count either?
Truth:It also helps that she a) doesn't post a lot in the game chat: where no respect can be made & b) Majority of her posts get an average of +3 respect :).

Huge shout out to Joseph41, who has just surpassed the legendary pi to become the most respected member in the history of ATAR Notes!! Congratulations are definitely in order! ;DCONGRATULATIONS!
Thanks for this, Jamon and others.Look if people wanted to upvote me I wouldn’t say no
I think it's certainly the case that I've benefitted from upvote inflation over the last couple of years; I can list very many users who should have more respect (Brenden should be #1 right now IMO). But I'm happy to hold the position for now, and will be even happier to pass it over when the time comes.
I'm not being at all hyperbolic in saying I don't know what I'd be doing with my life without ATAR Notes. I remember in my early posting days striving to make really good quality posts and threads, and that benefitted me later on. That's something that shouldn't be lost - quality is key. :)
Look if people wanted to upvote me I wouldn’t say no

Since I'm already here, shoutout to fantasticbeasts3 for being an amazing moderator and was the first person to respond to my first post! awww, you're lovely! i'm glad you decided to be more involved - you've contributed so much in such a short space of time, and these contributions have not been missed. aaand i just checked to see what was your first post, but i wasn't the first to reply hahaha (we'll just pretend i was the first aye?) also, i just saw your post on the moderator application page, and you should definitely apply. :-)Hmm maybe check out this link- I was so sure this was my first post! But yeah, thank you for your contributions :) Great to see you as a moderator now!

Gahh, it took me forever to write this up; almost twice the amount of time it took for my Psych and Methods guides! I was scared that I'd never be able to finish it, considering that I was swamped with uni admission stuff :'((( Really glad that I was able to finally complete it and that people are finding it useful!
EngLang next? ;)
An EngLang thread like that would see me melt in tears of pure joy.

Get around fantasticbeasts3 for kicking off our new HSC subject reviews and ratings initiative! Please, go and +1 her post - and any subsequent reviews in that thread. :)
The idea is for us to build a pool of subject reviews so that future students can benefit from past students' experiences. It will be so helpful for subject selection! If you can get involved and leave a review or five yourself, that would be amazing. ;D
Great work, fb3!

It is very very good! :DThanks guys :) Look out for them because this month will be filled with my articles lol
Especially when I don't use anything apart from my computer (I try my very best to turn the internet off whenever I can ;D) whilst studying, so now when I read this, it made me think yeah! You can actually be productive even when you have apps going on in the background! :D
If I really have a packed, full on schedule, I use the "Focus Booster" app, which is quite useful, as it gives me 25 min study sessions and then 5 mins break in between.
But now I'm so happy I change things up a little bit with these new goodies :)
Also, Liv's instagram page is extremely motivational for me!!
https://www.instagram.com/studywithlivia/
It's just nice to watch videos / read motivational messages from someone who's sailing in the same boat as you - striving for a really high ATAR!! :)
Good on you Liv! :)

S/O to insanipi for moving into the top 50 post makers in ATAR Notes history.
And I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but also the top ten most respected quite recently! Thanks guys <3
Firstly, to Aaron, who has just notched up 3,000 posts on ATAR Notes. A lot of members would be well aware of the work that Aaron has put into AN - largely behind the scenes - which was and remains very much appreciated. But for all of his amazing moderating work, he's an AN legend on his posting alone. He currently has the 37th most posts of all time. Thanks Nick! Only taken me a good 5 years to get to the 3k ;)
Thanks Nick! Only taken me a good 5 years to get to the 3k ;)

Speaking of Jamon...
HSC lectures haven't started yet but shout out to the HSC lecturers for coming up with a different way to engage with the students. I just received a few emails with additional info (handouts prior to the lecture, marking exercises done in lectures). Really love how they're switching it up (gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised with these emails).
A massive shout-out to Rui, who's hit the 200-days online milestone- only the fourth person in the history of the forum to do so! ;D
Shout out to S200 for their 500th post!! ;DThanks Jamon!
Thanks Jamon!
But I really think that 500 pales when compared with almost 9000! :D
Aha not at all! 500 puts you in the top 0.1% of AN members of all time!!lol!
I hit 500 posts, and it was massive at the time for me, and I looked up at people like meithy and brenden and was like, "Yeah nah, never get there." Here we are :)
lol!
It was literally just days ago that I realised how long Meithy had been on here!
I am seriously motivated by how the "Great wonders" come back online pretty frequently!
Again... Thanks heaps for the S/A! :D
I can only hope...!
Aha not at all! 500 puts you in the top 0.1% of AN members of all time!!Top 0.1%?? Really?? :o

BIG s/o to miniturtle for this really sweet little thread - thank you so much, not just from me, but from all of us students. It is unbelievably comforting to know that you've gone through the same thing - the same stresses, the same tears, the same frustrations - and come out the other side with the realisation that the number we work for now will not define our futures, or our self-worth. You are a beautiful human, mini. Thank you for being you.

Can we all give a massive shout-out to AngelWings for organising and running the After Year 12 Q&A??Nawwww.... thanks to all of you who asked questions and the mods for popping in where I couldn’t. A huge thank you especially to PhoenixxFire and Miniturtle for stepping in on Saturday (I had quite a bit going on in real life) and Joseph41 for helping out with the promotional side of things. ;D
And for all the other posts in various threads where they have clarified & supported the 2018 & 2019 cohorts?
Please go to some of the posts in VTAC discussion, results 2018 & uni discussion to upvote their incredible work.
(No need to upvote this post; instead, give AngelWings the respect they've earned)

insanipi's respect has just won the European war with Hitler and dropped the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, so her respect count has completed WWII!!! Nice respect, insanipiAdmittedly, that took a little longer for me to understand than it should have (I'm no history buff :')), but thanks I guess haha! ^-^
When you realise that after hours of posting random things (or rather game spamming) a certain section of the forum now has 100k+ posts in its own right

At time of writing, ATAR Notes has 260,765 members. insanipi makes seven who have hit that 2,000 respect mark. We're talking top 0.003% if my math is correct, which it almost certainly isn't.
Regardless, amazing work!

ABSOLUTELY INSANE. Not to mention she has also just smashed through to be the 30th most prolific poster on AN.
Well done, Lou! You've earned this and I'm so excited to see that number continue to rise!

Shout out to blasonduo, Rui and Jamon for helping me (barely) survive my first week of uni :DHaha no worries, it takes time to get used to all this stuff. Surely they don't think it's really spammy either.

If you had told me when I started posting that I would hit 10,000 posts and 3000 respect, probably wouldn't have believed you! But you just never know where AN will take you ;)
Who's next to 3k respect? Think it's a tight race between RuiAce and Calebark? ;D
w0lfqu33n89 and r1ckworthy.
Two truly amazing, beautiful, truly inspiring people this world does not deserve. They know what they have done for me, and how utterly grateful I am for taking time out to give, care, value, understand, empathise, and are embodiments of one of my favourite quotes by Atticus Finch: 'You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view […] until you climb into his skin and walk around in it."
So compassionate, caring, kind, generous, thoughtful, and so focused on giving, and helping, and putting in effort to understand and be there, and their effort is vastly appreciated by me. Their values, and characters speak about the people they are, and who we should all look up to. When people like them exist, you have hope that maybe the world could be better than you thought. They both have done more than they will ever know, and they continue to give and give, and be truly incredible people who deserve the stars and moon and beyond x
AlphaZero and others are smashing it out of the park in the Methods 3&4 Question Thread. ✌️Wow - very impressive. Well done, AZ.

Double post, but I think an allowed post so it actually gets seen? Idk I'm technically not a mod, I'm just the equivalent of that grandpa that everyone ignores
Kudos to Owlbird - every time I go on to the chemistry boards to answer some chem questions (it being my true love, not maths ), they've beaten me to it. Good job!

A rather sizeably sizeable Congratulations to Poet for hitting 1500 posts and 2500 respect at almost the same time!!!!!!OMG THANK U FOR MY FROG I AM HONOURED
While i am certainly biased, you have been an outstandingly friendly and caring figure on the forums and I think your post to respect ratio speaks to that - either that or it speaks to your proficiency in blackmailing Nick to bump that respect number up. Honestly I suspect the latter.
As a gesture of appreciation - here is a hand drawn (believe it or not) picture of a frog (although I probably don't need to tell you what it is as it - its a pretty darn good drawing if you ask me)Spoiler(https://imgur.com/l2tl5JF.jpeg)
As much as I wish I had some proper dirt on Nick or the other admins, they're all too perfect and lovely for me to even want to find any.
